I can't let my nostalgia overlook the fact that Super Mario Odyssey's main theme is one of the most gorgeous video games of all time, and easily my favorite here.
3:26 is where it started for me. So many memories of playing the 2006 mario bros with my brother on his DSi during those long summer days. Nostalgia hits hard
Something really interesting that I just noticed about Mario themes is that they all seem to have a brief introduction to the theme, making it easier to identify. Perhaps that explains why they are so catchy, since, at least for the first Mario bros and Mario 64 probably the most known/remembered sections of the main themes are the introduction and maybe a couple measures after it.
Galaxy 1 will always be my favourite. I will never forget watching the ending and crying myself to sleep, the countless hours solving puzzles, hunting star bits. And flying around with the red star. Memories

Super Mario Land is basically not counted here since it's Technically a Spinoff She is only counting the Main Series Mario Games And Just because... Uh... Sarasaland.
@@ibhaenggi Nintendo counts Super Mario Land 1 and 2, so both should he included. After all, this is supposed to be a video celebrating the Super Mario theme songs. If Super Mario Run can be included, there's no reason why Super Mario Lands 1 and 2 can't be here
35 years later, Mario 2 still has the bounciest, most energetic and cheerful overworld theme, imo. A lot of the newer ones are slower and jazzy, which is fine, but there's just something about Mario 2's quick, energetic beat.

I love Super Mario World. It's impossible to listen to that and not get happy... Super Mario 64 makes me feel like dancing with skills I don't have.. New Super Mario Bros Wii brings nostalgia, I remember using all of my money to buy a disc for my siblings and I. We made a lot of memories there... good times :,) I still have the disc
The reason the Mario music is so happy is because there are chords in the songs that strike a feeling in us. The chords are: vi (minor sixth) II (major second) iv (minor fourth) bVI (flatsix) bVII (flat seventh) A few of these chords are non-diatonic, they're not in the key of whatever the one is. This provides a feeling of stepping out of our comfort zone, only to resolve back to the major first.
New Super Mario Bros 1 and 2 use a classic jazz progression: I - VI7- II - V and variations. Also, Super Mario World is simple: I - V and minor subdominant cadences. This simplicity is good to the ears, that's why we like it.
Any one who has played a little bit of each Mario game would be able to instantly identify the themes of World and 64, something just so organic, feels like home
Well I only played some of the Mario games I never really got around to playing the 2D Mario games either the super new Super Mario Bros or things you can get with the central switch online because I'm not going to buy a SNES or NES controller

The first 4 songs are nostalgic, because we had All-Stars and World for our old Super NES. I can relive World on the SNES classic, but not All-Stars. For that, I'll hope for the NES classic lol

Super Mario Odessy brings back so much nostalgia from my childhood. I was a lil too young for video games at the time but apparently I used to dance to the music 🤣
I love how the music went from simple 8 bit beeping to full on composed scores consisting of various instruments. The soundtracks are part of what makes these games, and I could spend hours listening to them.
Back when I was playing Super Mario 64, I felt like it's the hardest game I played so I just played with my older cousin because I was having a hard time completing it. Good old days....
the first game i played was New Super Mario Bros around 2010 and i was only 7 at the time so i didnt know any better on the secrets the game had, a year later me and my siblings were watching TV whilst i was playing the game and i challenged myself to beat all bosses as mini Mario despite not knowing this was a requirement to reach the other worlds which we hadn't unlocked yet. So when i finally beat the sand boss and reached a new destination for the first time, me and my siblings were erupted in shock and were screaming so loud in the living room we couldnt contain our excitement. So many good memories with that game
< all the games after SM64, haven’t played all and of those I have, maybe a level or two for half an hour or less total. Of course, all of them through SM64 played the crap out of them and found everything.
And the first game I ever played was Super Mario Galaxy when it released on the switch and the first game on completed what Super Mario Galaxy on the switch I'm working on Super Mario 64
I have huge nostalgia with the Super mario 3d world's overworld theme. I first got a wii u for christmas at about 2016 when I was 5, and I remember getting Super mario 3d World, Mario Kart 8, and also splatoon because I asked for it. I sometimes just randomly get on my wii u to this day even tho we have a switch today and even tho the wii u was hated and didn't sell very well the wii u will always have a special place in my heart :)
