The only thing is that with how old the Moon is, both Theia and Earth should have been a molten planet when they collided. Edit - they did not have enough time to cool down before they collided
@@fnafperson497 Right about that one. Over time, the Moon drifted far away from Earth. We are currently at the point where the Moon exactly matches up with the Sun, causing a (geologically) rare solar eclipse. In 600 million years or so, the Moon will have drifted far enough that this isn't the case. It's estimated to move away at 3.8 cm per every year.
7:30 actually, we do know why. its the same reason as the Late Heavy Bombardment occuring. Basically, Jupiter and Saturn ended up in an orbital resonance which messed a lot of stuff up, including Neptune's orbit.
In this case, the main series of progression should focus on the Sun turning into a red giant as it ages, with minor events along the way like the arrival of Gliese 710, which might disrupt Oort Cloud objects. Earth should get destroyed although it has a very very small chance of surviving the red giant phase, and might eventually crash into the Sun for one final plunge once its orbit has decayed enough.
Just saying, the random name of Salibe is just a curse for me... I just keep getting it and it's really annoying me now some notes about it: Triton was probably a bit if not much farther away from neptune when it got captured. Theia was probably more dense than earth Mars' atmosphere in US^2 usually doesn't show.
