Tbh most people say that because it’s carried by nostalgia but I’m not saying that it’s not good in my opinion it’s around top five but to be honest my favorite is Wolfenstein the new order
@@antgamer7409 Oh yeah, this is very good too. And you're right I am nostalgic. But I don't know I keep instaling and playing RtcW year by year and I'm never bored. Maybe that combination of medieval buildings and futuristic laboratory, undead creatures and sci-fi robots is something that speaks to me louder than modern games.
@@antgamer7409 Return to Castle those electric monsters gave me a scare and just hearing their sound gave me unease no other Wolfenstein tried to be scary and be truly Wolfenstein
For me as a German, I find it sad that the Nazi banners and Hitler images were censored in the German game, for example with a K in a red circle. You know what it's actually supposed to represent, but it's still not the same, especially since Germany is this story The best way to understand it is that it is censored in exactly that country, which is actually incomprehensible to me
@@einfachnurnadine5801 natürlich es zerstört die Atmo ab 18 sollten Spiele komplett ungeschnitten sein wie der Entwickler sich das vorstellt Diese Bevormundung sucks donkey dick
@@einfachnurnadine5801the point is that the Nazis are bad ppl and don’t deserve to be censored especially from within their place of origin. its very odd
It started out as a story in which a guy successfully escaped from Castle Wolfenstein. The real prototype is the Renaissance castle of Wewelsburg, northeast of Büren (Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia).
@@thecreatorofexistence669 "a reboot", yeah right Every game in the series before 2014 has a story and gameplay independent from every other one, and yet 2009 was somehow a "reboot".
i had played rtcw and wolfenstein 2009, both are amazing games. but the reboot is full of nudity and it's quiet wierd. i overall liked the supernatural scenario over the technological one
Let me just thank you for the weird and out of place voice over in the video. As a blind man, it really helped me to know what was was on the screen, as the simple pop up that explained the game was not enough.
Yes i completely agree. I just recently played Wolfenstein New Colossus, finished it and then started playing Wolfenstein 2009 after so many years for a second time. And i was surprised how better Wolfenstein 2009 is compared to Wolfenstein New Colossus. I played New Colossus to finish the game. I liked it but it was nothing sensational. But i'm enjoying Wolfenstein 2009 far more. Even the old graphics of Wolfenstein 2009 looks better somehow.
@@ItsOrel nah, new colossus was downright bad in comparison to the artstyle and story of the new order. A lot of similar ideas were used, such as having a mission in space. Plus, the game was way too reminiscent of modern day politics. I really liked analyzing the cool little details inside of the first game, as its worldbuilding is amazing.
the most interesting thing about this vid is to compare the progress of graphic engines from 1981 to 2001, and then compare that progress with the basically non-existing progress between 2001 and 2019. seems almost as if something or someone had stopped the progress deliberately..
? They have improved a lot in graphics and textures between 2001 and 2019. The 1981-2001 evolution seemed so drastic only because they switched to a better 3D engine
What? Progress was bound to slow drastically the closer it gets to being realistic! What exactly are you expecting here? This is like a comment I read once on Facebook that complained cars haven't gotten drastically smaller even though computer chips have. Like, ???
I played Wolfenstein New Colossus and liked it. But now i'm playing Wolfenstein 2009 after so many years for a second time and i must say Wolfenstein 2009 is an underrated masterpiece it is better than Wolfenstein New Colossus. Wolfenstein 2009, Wolfenstein Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein New Order are the best games in the series. Now i'm thinking Wolfenstein 2009 to be the best Wolfenstein. It may be better than even Return To Castle Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein New Order. New Colossus is good but it's not as good as these three games. For me the best Wolfenstein is the underrated, overlooked Wolfenstein 2009. It's so much fun.
@@ll3yWanTeD Yeah i didn't own Wolfenstein 2009 back then so now i had to pirate it. Wolfenstein 2009 is no where digitally, you can't buy the game digitally which is ridiculous because the game is really good. It should be on Steam and on other digital playforms.
And where is the DLC "The Freedom Chronicles Season Pass" for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, when there is the Old Blood data disc, or also Cyberpilot.
I used to sell Apple II computers and The original 1981 version of Castle Wolfenstein, at Team Electronics in Boulder Colorado!! ...It came as multiple 5 1/4" floppies... and you had to swap them for gameplay. All the teenaged kids would come in on Saturday to check it out on our demo Apple.
You should probably have included Brutal Wolfenstein 3D. Yes, i know that it is a fan made mod, but it takes original Wolfenstein 3D and makes it more brutal and modern.
The new Wolf3D games have lost the original feel. How many know that there are unofficial Wolf3D games made by programmers? Played dozens of those DOS based and it's better than new ones.
