Evony chalon thoughts and presets for beginners 

It's worse than lag. The registration and occupation of any building or portal is based on timing and when you can't rely on timing the game becomes unplayable. And we still trudge on and all the bigs keep spending.

L agony strikes again, I ate a rally because the return march took forever. 🤦🏻

The timeslot sucks for the uk too. 1-3pm splat bang in the middle of the work day. 3-5/4-6 uk time one used to be better, at least I could get a sleep in then by the time Chalons was over I was firing on all cylinders ready for the day.

Try being in Australia. It's either im at work or at like 3am in the morning

Our chalons matchup was oddly in our favor. We dominated the map and that was boring, but nice to win. I'm only k35 with 5 presets, so first 4 are rally presets, last one PvP ranged, but the layers are good for any type, so I can shift the top tier if I want. Speed less important when leading a monster rally, so I set that manually every time

It was 6 am PCT! I don’t know how the misconception of getting wounded troops in monster march rallies (base on joining by cav, ground or siege) started. I just debunked it by asking everyone to send a single siege and by sending few full siege march by alts to kill a b13 and B14. The siege march ended up with massive loss but the rally leader didn’t get any wounded on cav march.

My team did well on Chalons. The biggest issue that I noticed was when I would get my Scout Reports. There was a delay while they loaded. Even if I’d already seen it once, it didn’t matter, whenever I clicked on a Scout, it took forever to open. And the whole screen would freeze, so I couldn’t even backtrack. That was rough. But we still did ok. Also, I think it would be amazing if Evony created a “Preset Slider,” for instance. Like, you have a little selector, and you can slide it from 0 to whatever, and when you do, it adds that many Troops from each layer you possess. Because I am like you were once, I have to redo all my Presets every couple days, either to prepare for PVP, and then to prepare for PVE. It’s annoying. The Layers are the worst part of my PVP Setup Ritual.

One more thing I like to add, is that when people attack bosses by themselves they often use their sub cities, sub cities eliminate wounded for the main march, in return some sub troops die. They need to kill without their subs in order to see if they'll get wounded or not

It was 3am-4am in UK but now its 1pm on a week day so not very good if you work

Chalons was the usual one super power alliance (3 all-stars, Top 100 BoC) and us plus 2 tiny alliances. The big alliance was two times as big as the rest of us combined. We placed second and scored some points so best one can expect given the Evony crapstorm. Had very little lag actually.

Only thing being mentioned about chalons is everyone being reimbursed with march speed ups etc.....what a shambles It was in Wednesday...marches not sending,timers stuck on 0,unable to join rallies...no buffs from mine carts...the lost goes on

We had a 10-12 second lag made the entier event trash... The final kick in the sack was we came up against alliances that were less than 1/10th of our power so there was no real pvp or rally opportunities for points...

Congratulation to your awesome results Gengis. Whau! Were also upset about the lags, but the opponents had the same issue lol on the end we got place 2 total rank 73 lol server 2-300 but I am happy, we didn't got the middlefinger timeslot.

The email that was sent out for voting actually said March 16th, April 8, April 15 and April 16…they didn’t even go by their own damn voting email.

The trick I use for preset is I set up my pvp march preset and then I take off highest tier, which is t14 for me. For example I make a range march and just remove t14 range when I finish and then put baibars as main and greene as asistant for joining rallies. So when I join a rally I just press a preset and then reset to 1 troop. This saves me a lot of time for making presets for battlefield and svs, takes me less than a minute to get them all ready because all I haave to do is put back my pvp generals and fill in my t14. The reason why I remove top tier is because all my pvp generals have much bigger march size than my baibars so if I didn’t do it like this I would always lose out on lower layers and have to redo them every time.

Lag lag lag lag, we won chalon, but I couldn’t teleport at times. I took a tower, but it didn’t register for three minutes. The crazies thing for the first five minutes I could not send out multiple marches to different locations. I had to re-ghost quick before I blasted by the other three teams. Some of our newer players almost got scared away from it. Planning to rehab them in BOC 😂🤣

lag was horrible, many times we couldnt port, marches were stuck. i had the day off so i joined chalons, but will miss the rest due to work.

Jip i cannot do Chalons at all. I'm in South Africa. And it's 15:00 to 17:00 for me. Right im the middle of my workday. Cannot possibly join. Our team also agreed that Weekends are way better. Or some method of being able to select a time slot would be nice.

I work weekends, so Chalons works well for me. It gives me badges that I can't get in BOC :P

Was such a lag festival for us bro at one stage 20 second wait time on marches :/

I needed to restart 4 times... chalons was brutal... we were totally outgunned, but still... oufffff

It's interesting you showed your time slot as 9am to 11am. I was expecting that time slot for our alliance yet it was 9pm to 11pm (Toronto time zone after daylight saving change). Did you only have one time slot? Maybe my member was wrong but she told me our alliance pick slot 4 as to say there were choices.

why did it on weekday. is this really one of major event for this company?

Lowly K34 with only 4 presets, but I have 2 for monsters and 2 for PVP, one archer and one siege. I still have to tweak the presets before battlefields which definitely is annoying. Do you recommend setting the PVP presets with unbuffed march or fully buffed (i.e. +50% or +100% march size)? There seems be a downside either way. I've set up the preset with a march buff on and then if the buff expires, I end up losing my bottom layers. When doing it the other way around, you have to add more troops manually to fill the march before sending.

Lag was terrible. I couldn't join any of our rallies - my troops would arrive, and just sit there with "marching" until the setter sent the rally, and then they returned. Also took forever to occupy buildings. Evony need to actually spend money on their servers to make this game playable, but we all know the owners would rather go and spend the money on themselves.

SvS is over the weekend but Chalons during the week @ prime work time WTF, question for you on the sending a single ground troop w/o a general. Doesn't that mean you lose the chance on the double drop? Not worth it?

I have 8 pvp presets, 1 ground, 1 solid archer (solo), 1 solid cavalry, 2 siege, then I have 2 experimental marches, and 1 archer rally preset

March presets... isnt it better to have a higher drop general with ring as assistant than a stamina saver?... I've found it more efficient to run 1 rally with a double drop then to save stamina.... thoughts?

When you're using pvp marches to rally, do you deselect your sub cities beforehand? I usually spend time deserting because I think it will lose my sub troops?

And…. 9am EST is insane for people working mid week

Lag was horrendous with marches not moving when sent. This is such an embarrassment for Evony, but as usual, they just wring the teat of the coiners and give another squeeze. Speaking of that, our match-up was b-r-u-t-a-l. #2 qualifier on continent. Almost 3x our size. It was just cross-reinforce and hold until we were 0d. Then heal small numbers and harass buildings. We held for second place but this is just sloppy, lazy match-making for coiners to breeze through. Evony is a complex ant farm given as a toy to an idiot child for them to ruin.

I want to just uninstall the game and never look back.

So 5am for Europeans is bad? But 6am is OK for west coasters? It's absolutely horrid.

Man evony matchup is glitched i think ,we fought with 120b and 80b alliance and we are 30b alliance i totally don't understand the matchup 🥲
