Problems I have been having with my Rangerover Evoque (petrol).
Central locking,cameras and alarms!
Just the rear door (boot ) unlocking and battery volts on this video.
Battery charging to more than 14.8 volts (sometimes over 15 volts )

Also when the battery went flat, incorrect jump starting causes all sorts of problems with any modern car. 14.9 volts is the correct alternator output especially if the battery isn’t at peak performance.

Looks like this is an old post but here's my tuppence worth. Sounds like you've been replacing batteries to fix the issue however if it's charging at 15V then the issue is with the regulator on the alternator it's over charging the battery and knackering it.

When you had new battery fitted did you have it programmed to car. Not doing so will cause new battery to charge at higher rate and shorten it’s life. A weak battery on Evoque causes all sorts of problems. Good luck with it

My 2013 evoque did the same thing , I think its a faulty key .I stopped using that key removed and remove the battery on the key .I used the second key I have not had that problem for over a year now .The issue with the boot is the key ,I don't know about the cameras

For me it happens in both keys.

Hi, did you fix the tailgate problem? I have a similar problem, it opens itself when I come with the key.

I took it to a Landrover Garage as it was under an extended guarantee. They took 4.5 hours looking for the fault and said it was a wiring loom problem and not covered by the guarantee!! They only charged me for 1.5 hours at £150 an hour!! I had given them a list of faults shown using this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VaV7Sb5-0hs.html They returned the car without even resetting the fault codes. However the boot opening fault has gone away and it is just the cameras that do odd things. The charging seems wrong to me as the battery monitor I have says it is charging to overvoltage. The early Rangerover Evoques charge flat out when any of the doors are open!! I never did find what was wrong with the boot but it has not done it again so maybe the wiggling of looms and connectors did clear the fault. I was not charged for any spares.

14.volts is a very good charge, I don't know what you mean

I think that 14.2v is a good voltage for a battery. This one goes to over 14.8v. I have bought a bluetooth battery monitor and even that is giving a warnng that the charging volts are too high! The system was told it had a new battery. I think this all goes back to when the car was new. It was one of the first petrol ones in Cornwall and they had a problem if they were not driven every day like commuting. The battery was not charged enough and the cars electronics drained the battery. After serveral times when the battery was flattened and homestart called out, Landrover changed the software and that is when the volts went up. After that the battery never really recovered but they would not change it. New battery and now with other battery draining 'ghost' problems I have had Landrover try and fix it under my extended guarentee. They took nearly 5 hours to investigate and said it was a broken loom. However that problem has gone away (I did not change the wiring loom). They only charged me for 1.9 hours labour at £150 an hour!! The insurance would not pay!!!
