He's actually nothing like the original Obi-Wan Kenobi, being Sir Alec Guinness. Ewan McGregor is way too high energy and dramatic. Yes, maybe the writing in Episodes I to III did not help his performance, but he always felt like a terrible Obi-Wan. I understand how Alec Guinness got too old and how a different actor had to be Obi-Wan, but the whole replacing thing in the originals just always made me sad. Same applies to the original Anakin.

He is indeed...I bought Ewan a drink once when he was filming a film in his very early days, it also happened to be in a pub called The Sloop Inn, that I recognised a few years after as being used in an Alex Guinness black and white movie...I really should Twitter him and let him know that fact (I also have been known to cosplay as Obi Wan...so 3 Obi-Wans have all drunk in the same pub lol
