Breaks my heart to see those girls in such a state. I've had chickens for many years and just love them so much. They are so smart and loveable pets. I would gladly add battery hens to my flock if I could find them. Funny thing is I've had people not want my eggs because they didn't come from a store. No mine came from free ranging hens who love their lives. And get the best care ever 💜. Always allowed to live out their lives in retirement as well. God Bless you for saving those little girls. And yes your flowers will never be the same. But what other pet gives back as much as a little chicken girl does?
+sheryl napier You got that right. Is it that silly cow that was all 'quirky tomboy' on X Factor, never to be heard from again...apart from punishing anyone who's ever eaten an egg.
Help a one animal = take away part of the suffering from all the abused animals. So still depends on individuals! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear*
Thank you for sharing this. They are beautiful, and makes me and others think about eating "chicken," or consuming eggs. They are real, sentient beings who should live a full and happy life. thank you.
GOD WILL BLESS YOUR SOUL FOR SAVING BATTERY CHICKENS! YOU ARE A VERY KIND PERSON! AFTER WATCHING THIS I WAS BEGGING MY MOTHER TO BUY ME CHICKENS! THANKS FOR SHOWING!
God bless you. Your hens are lucky, lucky girls to have you rescue them. I do wish they'd outlaw battery egg production in the US. Of course, I vote with my wallet.... we only eat eggs from our three beloved, happy, spoiled hens. Best of luck to you and your girls.
I love that you save the life of hens. I don't eat Tyson anymore, because the tortured chicken doesn't satisfy me as much as free range-non stressed chicken, I love chickens. and I love the fact you saved them. It kinda like missionarys if you look at it the right way, Missionarys (Like you) save people (Or chickens) from evil (Or the egg producing plant).
This is like my Beatrice, Audrey and Penelope...All battery hens now living a free range life....Thankyou for sharing your chickens....LOVE MY GIRLS...
It would be lovely to see how they are now and their little body’s with all their feathers. What a beautiful soul you must have 👌🏼 also I don’t know why everyone is going on about the music I liked it, I do get why some people are saying it would of been better to hear the chickens but I liked the song
Well done, lovely. We have 3 new rescue girls, Joaney, Jenny, and Joycey, who are just now enjoying their freedom too. Love the video and the music, Best wishes Dawn
beautiful birds. thank you for rescuing them :) they look like they are having so much fun! i'm looking into rescuing some ex batts but i'm having some trouble. they aren't many people in scotland that sell rescued ex batts. i've visited the battery hen welfare trust but it's pretty far from my area!
Lovely video!! .. 2 VERY LUCKY HENS!! ... At the beging of ur clip, I hope people take notice and think on!! cause its so true........... I will not allow supermarket or shop egss through my front door, My ten ladies lay about 60 eggs per wk... they more than pay for their own keep as well the hilarious moments with them... (and they are a fantasic excuse for not getting house work done!) lol x
A very nice video... With a nice garden you have, I hope you do have a designated soft soil area for them to scratch around. They will love you so much for it!
When I looked at the egg on my plate at breakfast. I thought of the hen that laid it. A large, fat, austrolorp hen named macy. I thought about her scooting around the yard. And me picking her up and stroking her! Then her going into the coop and laying an egg. My Pet Chicken!
im so happy that people like you exist!!! i should convince my parents to do this too!~! so happy for them! i love you! oh and batteries are illegal now in europe :) BUT they have an option to get bigger versions of the cages they have a perch and stuff but i still think its mean
so nice to see them free :):) I had 2 chickens, one of them died yesterday at the vet :( i put another one with her from a friend of mine which was a battery hen as well, but my friend got her for a long time already. The one I had does act dominant but they are establishing pecking order
Beautiful ...have a great life little miss Hen .....why would anyone buy eggs from caged birds ? ..Come on people with all the budget supermarkets now you can buy free range so cheaply ! Or better still look out for the signs where people are selling eggs from their Hens ...in this day and age There is No excuse for cruelty !!
Just think these hens have never seen anything but the inside of a wire cage under a roof that keeps them from feeling sunshine or rain. Then they are “ripped” out by the legs for slaughter for their trouble.
People need to realize that the eggs they are purchasing in the supermarkets are all from battery chickens unless it says Free Range or Pasture Raised on the carton. Battery chickens live their entire life in a wire cage or cramped on the floor so tight that they can barely move. Cage Free on a egg carton means absolutely nothing because the chickens are still cramped In battery houses on the floor where the lights never go out so the chickens practicly lay themselves to death by producing eggs nonstop. Please, please everyone, have some compassion for those birds and buy only Free Range Eggs or Pasture Raised Eggs! Free Range means that the chickens have outdoor space to scratch and move about in sunshine. Pasture Raised is even better, the chickens are moved from Pasture to Pasture and go into their mobile chicken coup at night. Some brands that are selling Free Range Eggs give their chickens more space then others and you can go online to check them out. Pasture Raised or Free Range Eggs are the only eggs which I purchase and yes they are more costly, but it is totally worth it to me, knowing that I do not participate in the torture of a species, aka chickens. Pasture raised eggs are more nutritious as well and have a deep orange yolk. Every creature Great and Small deserves to be treated with kindness and humanely, they all deserve it.
Perhaps if eggs cost £2 each humans would appreciate the creatures who lay them... I doubt it though. I'm learning how to look after hens properly so I can home some rescues. I'd rather there was no need for me to do this but it's the best I can do as I don't eat meat or dairy. We do occasionally get a few eggs from someone local who keeps rescue hens.
Fionnah Saunders Harare Zimbabwe Could you give them a tray or basin of sand to dust themselves, they will really appreciate that and a couple of ripe tomatoes . Well done
