IMO botching a job is fine so long as they're big enough to own up to it and come back to do it right without asking more from the person they did wrong. It's the ones who don't come back when they crap it up that deserve to be black-balled.

I admire this reporter so much that is the only person I ever see that has the brains and courage to tell these crooks the truth and confront them to their face. This Zach is a lifetime crook and con man and of the people that are pointing the finger at him with proof that he's a crook, that's only the tip of the ice-burg in that most people just walk away and take the losses. Just one more loser of a million more in this country. I hope he does jail time and if lying were illegal, he'd get a life sentence.

Why would anyone pay anything before work is completed?? I was in the concrete business my entire career and only had 1 rule - You pay me in full when my job is complete. I never had any issues in 40 years except for an accountant who tried not paying...took him to court, won and got the judgement.

To me its a red flag for ANY contractor to ask for full payment before the job is complete. I recently had to have an entire moldy basement abatement service done on a fixerupper; everything nasty--cabinets, carpet, walls, ripped out to the studs. $14K and I didn't pay a dime until that basement was so clean you could eat off the floor. I sometimes did half up front , half when complete with other contractors, no problems. To pay in full and you're not finished? Only if that is the same day you are finishing, and I am right there with you making sure------MAYBE.

Apart from the entertainment value of these investigations and filling airtime for the stations, do these people ever suffer any real life consequences? They seem to rack up a lengthy criminal charges and long list of complaints from past customers but they never do any serious jail time, if any, and shirk their responsibilities of paying back what they owe to people. As far as reputations go, they just create a new name for their next company and continue to scam people again, rinse and repeat. The only value, like I said, is pure entertainment.
