Now a behaviour therapist based in the US, Linda recalls how the unsolicited attention and fame brought trouble to her doorstep as she became one of the most searched people on Google.
I can bet my $100 you didn’t watch the video. Miss Okello had to leave her job because she was being harassed. She didn’t see it as being praised. She had to leave the country due to this irresponsible picture which disrupted her career. The Kenyan police could’ve protected her by pulling down that picture.
@@mannyq.manuel6124 when can i get that 100 dollars? i watched the video twice before commenting. she was being praised by so many that the people she worked for was JEALOUS. no one in the video was saying her body looked bad. THEY WERE PRAISING HOW GREAT SHE LOOKED. that is not body shaming. the shame goes to her bosses who mistreated her because they were jealous of her 15 minutes of fame. NOW where's my money?
Am seeing there is a period of success which has been knocking on your door for a very long period of time but you don't know how to open for it in your life. And there are dreams you have been getting at night which you forget when you wake up, some times you hear someone calling you but the voice disappears, and when your in a room alone you always have the feeling that your not alone. And some times you wake up from your sleep in the morning when your feeling tired from no where. And financially, you always gets money but it always passes through your hands without doing what's its supposed to do. And people has been turning onto your back even at the last moments. My spirits are showing me alot about you. There people blocking your luck and wants to destroy your life by sending you evil spirits🏞
Linda is one of the greatest police officer I have had an encounter with...when she was an assistant base commander in karuri I had a old pick-up and she always kept encouraging me and said "siku moja utanunua mpya"..it came to pass
@@rickm3692 I don't know about Police force and ranks.. infact I will stand to be corrected..but she really took care of us in Ruaka when she was in karuri 2010-2013...I only used to hear over a radio call "Base commander"..I don't know what it means though less concerned
She is definitely a beautiful woman with a beautiful spirit treated in a very ugly way which was not caused by her. I wish her future success and I hope all of us learn to handle these situations better for the future.
Any traditional woman with good values will not wear a tight dress like that. You give her so much compliments for an unmarried woman. Come on bro. Do you see a wedding ring?
@@edobwoyanother bro who allows his brain to run out of his head cos he saw a beautiful woman. She definitely wasn't treated well but she brought it on herself alright.
she wasn't treated well yet she benefited from the fame and attention it brought if you ask me deep down she is not complaining rather happy she went viral.. Don't be so gulible dude.
Body shaming cost her dearly in her career and personal embarrassed. Happy to hear she's thriving and didn't give up, she has a humble and commendable spirit
@@felixodongo8204 You know, I have discovered that most feminists (or impostors for that matter) just pick words and terminologies whose meaning they have no idea of. At no time was Linda body-shamed. Instead, men were drooling over her body, in admiration, not in disapproval but this one here has been hearing the term "body-shaming" and goes about using it ignorantly
The feature is good but the interviewer skills need work. She keeps interjecting, completing Linda's sentences and asking close ended questions which require just 1 or 2 word answers. The outcome is that you hear her voice too much
I really know ladies you're your own enemies! It was very long time ago and why do still follow her after even after she quit dirty police job!??!... Media w/men are sometimes petty!!!... Even in this interview she is so cool but I find the interviewer is biased still!
Very sad that she had to go through persecution & victimization but little did she know it was the beginning of her Blessings. She is a perfect example of why we should still persevere even when we are at our lowest.✊🏾
Linda Okello, you should never feel bad at all appearing in that uniform. In Nigeria, we feel you are a model Police officer who should be emulated by women Police officers everywhere in the world. Anyone, or your Senior officer who brings you before a Disciplinary Panel because of how fitting your uniform was on your body is your enemy. They are jealous of your natural beauty. God is with you Linda. Stay blessed.
This story is a perfect example of why the entire Kenya National Police Service needs a complete overhaul. It is unacceptable why this intelligent hard working woman was put through what she went through. Congrats to her for having the courage to move past that experience.
There will be no reforms that will change our police service, every time there is regime change they pretend to implement changes but little impact is realized.
The person who did this act to Linda was out for evil and should repent and ask for forgiveness so sad to hear the story. When evil police officers stealing colluding with criminals can't be photography. An innocent lady God will reward you.
I remember seeing her on Kiambu road when she stopped our matatu by reading her name through her name tag and i was surprised to see that she wasn't the way she was potrayed by social media photos... Media can be toxic. Stand strong gal
@@nodayzofff Wamesota and yet they have time and resources to take photos and videos of someone without their consent and even post it without consent. The day they will be sue or bitten to a palp is the day they will learn everyone has a right to their image.
In case you decide to think of how people fill about you, that's how same people get confused, because u have allowed ghosts to live in your mind. You what you will start fighting your own shadow.
"The uniform was issued to me 7 years ago" This is shameful of the National Police Service. How do you expect a person to wear the same clothes for 7 years? How? How? How? A very sad story!
@@WambuiNdunguhave you not heard how her immediate boss then handled her after the trending pic? The punishments, the reporting her to media, the unfair transfer, the bashing from collegues, her female boss did that!!
This is a lovely interview. I’m glad that she came out and expressed herself and how she was treated by the force and especially women. I think she’s very graceful and whoever took the picture, tried to portray her provocatively but the truth was she wasn’t even aware.
Body shamming but she’s built her whole social media page not on any other contribution to societal issues but bum bum aka her ass. Victimization at its finest
Do Linda’s former bosses genuinely want to say that they hadn’t seen her in that skirt in the 7 years that she wore it to work? In fact, the people that snapped her never complained but, praised her. Tf?
Thank you Linda Okello for the incisive commentary on your past experience in the police force. I love the way you decided to move on without wasting time expending your energy on fighting negative forces from fellow women. Gees from Zimbabwe
I'm surprised I have always thought it was a Photoshop, body shaming is bad and Kenyans are very good at cyber bullying. So sad. I like how composed she is and she is intelligent.
@@vivianmwende7551 what does this has to do with knowing Kenya? This about moral values and how bad we treat each other in our society. Or did someone told you we are lernen about geography lessons?? If you don't have something to comment, it is will be better for you not to comment.
@@bahillosleepinggiant3446 ummm just so you know it's my phone I'm using and you were attacking my country.. At least now you have manners to comment with an inclusion of the whole society. Your comment seemed biased. I actually wanted to talk about how Ghana amongst the west countries can't stand each other's sight but umm.. Lemme preserve my intellect for the African forums. 😌
@@vivianmwende7551 I am not attacking your country. It seems like you are the only Kenyan who didn't understand my comment. What I said, is the painful truth. Not only in Kenyan! any bad behaviour or attitude from a group of people is the reflection of the society. Because the society that you are born and raised makes you the person you are. It seems like you just want to understand things the way you want them to be. There are Kenyans who support the comment I made. You can disagree with me and I don't have problem about, but the way you approach me is not the way to approach people you don't know. Maybe you need to think first be reacting and not reacting before thinking.
No matter what we love you so so much. You were looking great on that day. People were jealous of you plain and simple. Sorry about what you went through.
God is good All The Time. Thanks to That photo it made you move further from harassment n having a Peace of mind. God Bless You Linda. Our Police Force is still analogue. I was in police force(GSU) 33 years ago n I had to leave coz I wasn't Happy the way my boss was treating me. I was happy there after
That terrible situation for her worked out as her blessing and this humble lady turned negative to positive 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 And the her new course of study and career is very telling of her character... May God continue to bless her 💪🏿❤️🙏🏿
True. Even if police wanted to spoil for her but little did they know she was going to get abroad, a very stress free life!!! 1 am happy to see you happy again after very long time! ❤
This must have been very traumatic to go through all of that because she is well endowed with a nice trunk. I am very glad God opened other doors for her and I pray she soars high.
I never thought for a moment that, that photo could've taken her to hell and back, oh dear. I feel really sad. But am glad she has found her footing and doing much better than she would have had she stayed on with the police force. I hope the photographer is aware of his actions (it could not have been a woman!).
@@WambuiNdungu Her superior was a lady and she ought to have figured this out and solved it within the rule of the law not bullying. Taking a photo is one thing while instigating sever punishments and still following her to all the stations she transferred to torment her is another different thing
Linda is so beautiful and the way she speaks she is the kind of police we want in Kenya. Imagine her giving a press brief about an incident. And again dressing like that is no offence , civil servants wear more tight clothes than her....I salute her
Am honoured to be a Linda too😊,God used your setback to bless you with a comeback!!! Kudos with the interviewer too,she asked the right questions, keep it up gal!!
Exceptionally gorgeous women in society, throughout history, have always drawn all kinds of attention from both men and other women alike. Men have wanted to be with them, women have wanted be them. It has always been as much a curse to them, as it has, been a blessing. It all depends on how they choose to use this God-given attribute that everyone adores. In Kenya we have had our famous "slayqueens" or "socialites". Some have become proud successes and others have managed to make an absolute shame of themselves. Linda Okello had the opportunity of becoming a social media "assfluencer" after leaving the police, but clearly, her parents did a good job at raising her. Now, she can stand as an ideal role model to our young girls out there, many of whom think that the smartest way to a good life is shaking their buttocks on social media and offering their bodies to the highest bidders. We need more stories like this. Linda is educated, wise, and elegant through and through. We wish her all the best in her personal and professional life. May other gorgeous young Kenyan women out there not fall into the notorious slay queen trap...but if they do, we hope they be wise about it and come out unscathed and successful.
I'm a single man in Nigeria 🇳🇬 I love her so much, beautiful and pure in heart. Wish I'm in Kenya, hope she's listening to my humble voice, I love her so much, Linda🎉
lol what matrix? just stop that crap. it is crappy how even the police force punished her for something she has no control over but can we just send our condolences and stop this weird theories.
God normally allows us to be mocked before He makes you" He turns your sorrows into Joy,That is what has happened to this lady.Cheer up Linda.Your tormentors will bow down up you
Linda was a victim and still innocent from malicious online shaming but she didn't deserve this kind of open discrimination especially from police service
such a great woman.. so articulate, so brilliant, very composed.... very intelligent.. these are the kind of people our police service deserved more! wueh, Linda, nakupenda bure..
Great interview. Rarely get to know the other side, knowing the good and bad from it. Glad she was able to get through all the bad. Maybe this was her true calling helping people with special needs.
Our society has screwed mentality. They focus on non beneficial issues rather than make their politicians accountable for the mess they have put the country in. Love your body Linda and don't let anybody put you down and shame your body.
@Linda Okello I’m glad to learn that you picked yourself up and used their ignorance to better yourself. Keep pushing the Almighty God is on your side.
We say having a good shape is not a crime...most of womens we do it out of jealous...its not her mistake because if the head could see you and Had no complain it meant you were fine... anyway sorry for that be strong and keep going
Can't imagine too many "negative" comments. Sure she got praised for being able to wear a uniform so well. I mean she fine as hell. What is there negative to say
When Allah comes to redirect you,It comes with alot of confusion, pain, shame. People in your circle may not understand you,but if Allah does. Who is there to stand against His purpose for you. We need people to push us,if you understand. You forgive and do the work you're called for not what you wanted or wished. May you be guided Linda. Inspire someone, this earth is hard.
And all watchers in the west are shocked! This is nonsense and just shows an example of control on a folk! Girl just do your thing. Ignore what others think. You are a queen!❤
It is sad this woman had to go through such a traumatizing experience just because of the terrible thoughts of other people unclean minds. I pray she continues to grow, Excell, and as she mentioned turn this lemon experience into a lemonade Blessing! Much Success to you Queen!👍🏾💪🏾🎯💯
Linda, you're an inspiration to many. I shall not focus on the shameful Police Force and the way you were treated. I choose to celebrate your triumph under the circumstances, and for being true to yourself. They tried to take away your dignity, and it opened new opportunities and brought you blessings instead. Good luck as you continue pursuing your new career, and God bless 🙏🏾 Linda Akello, you rock, Nyamama! 👍🏾🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This is an intelligent woman. Very measured in her responses, very respectful to the people that were unkind to here, was not quick to leverage on the unfortunate situation to become "celebrity" etc. Good woman and deserves all the good thing
