Ex-D.A. Gil Garcetti: O.J. Simpson's 33-Year Robbery Sentence Isn't Appropriate 

It was obvious payback by that judge . She got the reality show (TV judge) she was clearly after and it was canceled shortly after .

That sentence was NOT about justice in that robbery case, it was payback for beating the murder charge. That case was 4 years max.

As OJ's defense lawyer Carl Douglas said in the documentary with regards to OJ recieving a 33 year sentence for the second crime... "it was the 5th quarter"...hahaha!!

That scarf is a crime, 18 months without parole would be appropriate.

Most ppl would've gotten 2 years for something like that. 5 on the outside, out in 3.5 w good behavior. He spent around 10 years in there, it was a judge looking to be a big hero. Justice system is not supposed to make up for past transgressions of setting up bad juries.

Garcetti was correct in saying 33 years was wildly inappropriate for the “crimes’ he was convicted of,but incorrect by repeating the false claim about arthritis medications.

This shameless hypocrite is almost entirely responsible for Simpson getting away with murder. These murders happened in Brentwood. Normal practice in Los Angeles County is to file a case in the superior court of the judicial district where the crime occurred, in this case, Santa Monica, which is where the Menendez case was filed. In Santa Monica, there would have been a small percentage of blacks in the jury pool. Instead, Gracetti filed the case downtown, where the percentage of blacks in the jury pool would be much higher. There can be little question-though no one could expect any of the Simpson jurors to admit it-that most members of the Simpson jury were biased against the prosecution and in favor of Simpson. If nothing else, the jury’s outrageous verdict and the lightning speed with which they reached it, demonstrate this point.

Hey, he got away with a double murder, so 9 to 33 is a generous sentence, especially as he got out in 9 when other Tom, Dick and Harrys would atill be serving their time.

Well, conversely, he got to walk away from a double homicide. So............

He got 33 years but served less than 10. That's what happens in states with indeterminate sentencing. Sentences mean essentially nothing because no one serves anywhere close to the whole thing. If you got 5 years you'd be out in 1.5.

So does he think it's to much or to little?!
