+Red Head Meteorite Marcus Antonius committed suicide on August 1ts. The Battle of Actium was crucial for Octavian in becoming the Emperor Augustus. Sextilis was renamed in honor of Augustus to August. I just thought it would be fun if the song or the video were recorded in August. :)

When I first listened to Ex Deo I was blown away. For sometime I didn't listen to them but then I started again with this song. I went to my local library and picked up book on Ancient Room. For the last week I have been reading up on Augustus the first Princeps and Imperator of Rome, called Augustus: The First Emperor of Rome. I am almost done with the book and I have invaluable knowlegde on the first emperor. And everytime I am reading on Augustus I always listen to Ex Deo. Hail Ancient Rome!

In the school we all had to learn (at least a little) about Egyptians, Romans and Greeks, in my case I never received education about Vikings or Celts (Unless you're from Scandinavia or from a Celtic heritage country or region maybe you didn't neither). There aren't too many roman, egyptian or greek influenced metal bands as there are Viking and Celt influenced metal bands. Even in Italy is easier to found Folk Metal with celtic influences than metal bands with roman influences By myself I don't know of any italian metal band dedicated to romans. I just wanted to express it. It is ironic I think. But it's cool too, because without celtic and viking metal maybe many of us wouldn't be interested of that cultures. Time(and metal offcourse) gave to those cultures an indemnification because talking about metal they have more acceptance than romans, greeks, egyptians or persians.

romain barry It was against Romans and Egyptians. And yes it was a naval battle but it's still in Greece, not in Egypt. Marcus Antonius and Cleopatra forced the Augustus' blocus and went to Egypt then. But this is considerated as the final war because Marcus Antonius lost the most of his troops (dead or captured)

HISTORY METAL! saw these guys live with Nile in Ft. Lauderdale. the lead singer went into talking about how important it is to know history and I yelled out HISTORY METAL! laughs were had. they were kickass too, roman armor and flags never looked so brutal. lead guitarist had a sick ibanez model I had never seen before too. time to break the bank on a new guitar.

No one tells the Indians/Chinese to stop having kids. China has about 1,339,724,852 people. India has about 1,210,193,422 people. Decadal growth for India is 181 million. They live with about 8 people in a 2 bedroom apartment, stowing away large amounts of cash, of which an apartment building burned down a couple towns from me, and the Indians there had more than the legal limit allowed for those to live in there. They could hold 150 people, but ended up having more than 250 people, just wow.

@MrZeroCide Nah, i took a few humanities classes, one specifically about ancient Rome 2nd year in college. I've read Meditations by Marucs Aurelius and Caesars book on the Gallic wars, working on Cicero's book now. The battle of Actium was largely a naval battle. End of story.
