@mrrolight
@mrrolight 4 года назад
@@marcopoloplanner8843 MS was using illegal traction/launch control. Even his teammates knew something was "different" about his car; that he was able to do things in that season that were beyond human capabilities. Look at the start of the French GP in 94. MS flies past Hill and Mansell to the first corner. His car is clearly way way faster off the start than every other car in the race. Illegal launch control software was found in the car, though it had been hidden. Senna could tell by the sound of MS's car that he was using illegal traction control, which is why he was able to complete the Nurburgring overtake from "so far behind before the turn". Also the refuelling system had been illegally and dangerously tampered with in order to gain a second on every pitstop. So we will never know whether or not MS was better than DH in 94 as you claim because he was cheating. If this were drugs and athletics, there would be no discussion. DH was a two-time world champion in my book. The incident where MS drove into DH to stop him winning the championship was a disqualifying manoeuvre. F1 lost a lot of fans because of the ruling body's handling of that moment. Seriously you cannot make the claim that in 94 Schumacher was "way better than Hill" in the same way that it cannot be claimed that Lance Armstrong was "way better" than his Tour de France rivals, on account of having won it 7 times, BECAUSE he too was cheating.

Moha Nas Dear sir, with all my respect but ,i dont understand how a person like you think, you sound educated and intelligent but your analysis of 94 season and Adelaide Hit to win that schumacher caused with his aggressiveness and disrespect to other drivers and never mindedness to whatever happens and if you try to defend him so how would you defend 97 with Jaque vilneuve ? However, schumaker 94 in the cheat Beneton, disqualified for breaking the rules,bending others to his favor, cheating with launch control,illegal refueling systems,and other electronic stuff.. Hill struggled to hold a broken team on his shoulders after a death shock of an all time champion and through all Hill over drive schumaker to win the championship if not stolen in the last race (ideal or no ideal, schumaker Hit the wall under the pressure of Hill super driving, schumacher goes back to track knowing that his race finished, Hill did not see him hitting the wall, there is no way that schumacher did not see clearly where Hill is and tried to regain the line on purpose to hit Hill who was performing a normal overtaking maneuver ..this is racing, you get to your opponent who is struggling, what you do? you sit and watch or you overtake? they are doing this same maneuver every day in F1 and overtaking others this way..the only mistake Hill did is that he had not foreseen who schumacher was to be careful from being hit out, he should ve waited the next corner , schumacher was going to pit anyway and lose the race! Hill would ve won 94, been motivated and respected in 95, 96 ofcourse, stayed in williams 97 and moved to Mclaren successfully 98, 99 and maybe more..that should have been the Hill era of the 90s, at least 6times world champion! but that s why there s something called luck and the other one got lucky, nothing more but the real hero is one and in our minds will always be! About Senna, he was a loved driver more than anything else, also a magician whether he did things or not, he did nothing more than what others did to him! Respect!

Moha Nas As any reasonably well informed fan of Formula One could tell you, Michael Schumacher won his first World Drivers Championship under controversial circumstances. It is well know that Schumacher could easily have walked away from 1994 empty-handed after a collision with his main rival, Damon Hill. But for the sake of getting all the facts straight, let's take a look back to November 13, 1994 and the Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide. The 1994 season had been one of almost unbearable tragedy with the deaths of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna at Imola forcing the sport into a panic and bringing about a technical knee-jerk reaction in a desperate attempt to make the cars safer. Much has been written about the way in which the 1994 spec F1 Cars evolved. For the purposes of this article, it is sufficient to say that the single stage removal of electronic driver aids left the cars prone to unpredictable handling at high speed. It is highly likely that this contributed to the deaths of Senna and Ratzenberger as well as a number of other horrendous crashes. It wasn't until the 1995 season that proper measures to improve driver protection and aerodynamic stability were enacted and seemingly every circuit with a high speed corner became a mass of gravel traps and third gear chicanes. Prior to the horrors of the San Marino Grand Prix, the growing rivalry between Senna and the still relatively inexperienced Schumacher was the essential highlight of the Grand Prix weekend. Surprisingly, Schumacher's Benetton B194 was hugely competitive. Senna meanwhile struggled with a weak and unpredictable Williams FW16. The great Brazilian failed to score in the season's first two rounds. Then came Imola... The first race after Senna's untimely demise was Monaco and Schumacher dominated the event. By comparison, Williams' number two and sole entrant Damon Hill crashed into first corner retirement. At this stage of the season, it seemed as though Schumacher could win every race and would be Champion long before the final event of the year in Adelaide. But then Hill and the Williams team staged a remarkable recovery. A fortuitous win in Spain galvanised Damon and his mechanics and as designer Adrian Newey got on top of FW16's problems, Damon put together an impressive string of podiums. Then came the Silverstone fracas, where Hill won his home race and Schumacher saw himself first penalised for overtaking Hill during the parade lap and ultimately disqualified for refusing to serve his penalty. The DQ turned into a two-race ban after Schumacher and Benetton chose to ignore the Silverstone Black Flag and with Hill scoring consistently in the revised FW16B, the championship was game on as the drivers took a sodden grid in Suzuka for one the wettest Japanese Grand Prix's in history. In a two part race, Hill scored a superb victory that not only cemented his position finally as Williams number 1 driver but also reduced his championship deficit to a single point. Amazingly, given the first half of the season, the teams travelled to Australia with both titles still unresolved and Damon Hill as Michael Schumacher's unlikely challenger for the drivers crown. For 36 laps of the Australian Grand Prix, Hill and Schumacher traded fastest laps and sliced through the Adelaide street circuit nose to tail. The rest of the field were the better part of a lap behind when Michael went into the East Terrace corner too deep and skidded off the road, clouting the wall and crippling his Benetton B194. Damon had dropped back briefly while he negotiated a backmarker and did not see Michael hit the wall. The Williams' on-board camera showed Schumacher slithering back onto the track and sensing this might be his only chance to pass the German, Hill went for the inside line... Schumacher returned briefly to the racing line before skewing deep into the apex of the next right hander at exactly the moment that Hill arrived alongside him. The two cars touched and Michael was launched onto to two wheels, into the wall and into retirement. Damon appeared to have escaped with only a left front puncture and as he was miles ahead of anyone else an unscheduled stop to change it would have left him with a relatively easy charge to fifth place and with it his first drivers championship. Sadly for Hill and Williams it was not to be. The impact had buckled the left front upper wishbone of the FW16B and mindful of the risk of sending him back out, given all that had happened to them in 1994, the Williams team instructed Hill to switch off the engine. And just like that, Michael Schumacher was World Champion for the first time. But, for the sake of argument, imagine the situation had unfolded differently. Imagine that after the collision, Damon Hill had been able to continue. He would almost certainly have finished on the podium and therefore won the title instead of Schumacher. The public reaction would probably have been positive. In Britain, it would have been jubilant. Damon would have not only emulated his father in winning the drivers title, he would have done it in eerily similar circumstances to those, which brought Graham Hill his 1968 championship. Back then, Hill Senior had galvanised a Lotus team shell shocked by the tragic death of Jim Clark in a Formula Two race at Hockenheim by winning the title; defeating Jackie Stewart in dramatic style. Michael Schumacher might well have been condemned by the media. Firstly for failing to convert palpable dominance into the title. And secondly, the collision itself might have brought him the sort of reaction and perhaps even punishment he was to suffer in 1997 after his ill-judged collison with another Williams driver and eventual champion, Jaques Villeneuve. 1995 would have started on an entirely different footing. Hill would have been brimming with the confidence of a new champion. Such a boost might have helped him to turn the brilliance of the Williams FW17 into a second title. It's certainly likely that he would have avoided over driving the car, something Damon definitely did in his attempts to erase the memory of his bitter defeat at Adelaide on November 13th 1994. Who knows. We may even have come to talk of the mid- nineties as the "Hill Era"... And how might that have affected Schumi's progression to Ferrari? So much of what he ultimately built there can be traced back to that moment in Adelaide when Michael, backed by Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne, won his first title. It's fanciful of course. But that collision could possibly have been the signal defining moment of Formula One in the 1990s. But for one bent wishbone, it could all have been so different... (As an interesting footnote, had the current points system of 10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1 been in use in the 1994 season, Damon Hill would have won the World Championship by eight points.)

Moha Nas I believe like many reasonable F1 lovers from that 90s era, that schumacher who had other similar encounters such as with the canadian Vilneive97, why not believe that Adelaide94 was just another of his mad thirst for fame at any cost.. we believe and it is so obvious to the expert naked eye to see that schumacher intentionally knowing that Hill is surely overtaking him,took his chances as he had nothing to loose after failing under pressure once again , hitting the wall..going back to track opening the way widely by going left then cutting short the curve by regaining his racing line as if no one is there..but he knew that Hill was there, but he let it be anyway! clever, dirty, unsportive..but gave him all that fame he had after..does it need 2 to see that? anyone who oppose is just blinded by schumacher false fame ,nothing else! but that s life and the wisdom of the creator not all in life can be fair..that s why so many who dont deserve get in the position of power and make names for themselves.. in F1 today the biggest example in Vettle, look how a false 4times champion simply fail when a rookie rock his grounds!

However, dont let your love to schumacher false fame blinden your intelligent mind that you cannot even see how desperate and deliberate Adelaide94 hit on Damon Hill to win at any cost and doesnt matter how!? i do not hate schumacher as a person, i am a christian believer and i love my enemies but i hate evil! the way schumacher unsportive way and style grew me to not appreciate him..and anyone in his shoes wouldve done the same ,even better..he had always been fortunate with the best who do their best only for him and anyone who would have had the chance to sit in a top team like Ferrari for 10years ,at that time of no computerised aids like now, 10years in the same team when there was no big names or real talents around, would have collected the same titles and more! Big similarity i see between lucky schumacher and modern lucky Vettle(4times world champion by chance) the proof is, watch this year, a rookie named Ricciardo has overshadowed him to the bones..! I lived to respect the existence of hero champions like Damon Hill, simply cos i watched him suffer when the whole world was against him and shine among the biggest with almost nothing but his naked talent, hard work, self respect and with dignity to enter F1 history from its widest doors..no one or couple others like Damon Hill just in 4years in F1(93 to 96)achieved so much in so little time and on the times of the greatests !

Schumacher has had a terrible accident and he deserves sympathy. Never the less far as his F1career goes he was nothing more than a cheat. There was never a season in which he raced that was without controversy over his actions. Firstly his demands that he had to be the number one driver almost spoiled F1. Maclaren won 15 out of 16 races one season and it was never boring to watch as they allowed their drivers to race one another as did Williams and it is a credit to teams like them that F1 did not die a death. Hakkinen, Hill, Mansell, Raikinen, Villeneuve, Vettel, Hamilton, Senna to name just a few World Champions have all been winners and in combined careers have not been able to be as controversial as Schumacher in a single season! He took Hill out in Adelaide, tried to do the same to Villeneuve, Rubens Barrichello had to brake on the line in his home GP to allow him past, how anyone could say that Schumacher deserved that win i will never know, as well as in Monaco when Rubens had to again to let him past in a race to let him be seventh instead of eighth. Cheated serving a penalty at Silverstone, used traction control when it was banned and parked his car in Monaco to scupper qualifying. He was an extremely flawed driver and one would wonder if he ever reflected on his career and thought about how many race wins and world championships he would have really had by winning then fairly and squarely.

+ricky Bernie did his best to stop the Schuey domination by introducing new technical regulations, no tyre changes in pit stops, etc etc. Maybe the biggest reason MS is not on the WC trophy in 05 and 06 is that Michelin-shod runners had a distinct advantage over their Bridgestone counterparts. Look at the other Bridgestone runners..it was a disaster year for them. So Bernie won. Yes, sad. Love or hate him, he was entertaining. We are still stirred up by him in 2016. Michael essas not that best. We won a because he got a second driver and all the team working for him. FIA sponsor the wins allowing Ferrari to test their cars all year round when other teams were limited. and let's not talk that Ferrari's budget compared to Williams and Maclaren was double.

Nigel Mansell is a legend and the best british driver. Damon Hill is the biggest loser in british motor racring.

Damon Hill was a World Champion F1 driver - how can that possibly equate with being a loser? Damon was a real gent, a man with humility, and with more talent than he is given credit for.

+F1-Fan- 82 Nigel was a Lion and one of my fav's but Jimmy Clark was the legend. I think Nigel, Jackie, and Damon would agree. So many great U.K. drivers going back to Mike Hawthhorn and Moss. Why pick on Damon?

+Mark Urwin Plus he was 33 when he got his F1 break. He was well past it when he came into the sport but still made drivers like Hakkinen look ordinary.
