She never says she’s bringing liquid through security. She says she bring the cups to fill with water. You can take empty cups through security and fill once you’re in and that can go on the plane. My family of 5 does this ALWAYS. We also take food as well. I bring sandwiches. I bring chips. I bring granola. Never had an issue. There no tsa rule against food.
@@ThingsILove2266 where are you travelling to/from? International flights have different regulations. You cannot bring fruit or vegetables from another country into the U.S but for domestic travel, it is ok. Same with meat. It's the country that you're bringing food into that places restrictions on food. Liquids over 100 ml, of course, are never allowed unless it is breastmilk. Just make sure you research what you is and isn't allowed at your points of travel and you should be fine! I have never not travelled without food and my family has been travelling for 30+ years now all over the world!
@@lulunu9139 I must be unlucky. I don’t go anywhere exciting. I’ve had a lot of waters thrown out and some snacks (lunchbox items). Maybe I just get the hungry workers and I look sanitary enough to deem my food acceptable to steal for their lunch.
In the US any solid food (frozen burritos, fruit/veg, etc.) are fine coming through security. If it is spreadable or pourable (peanut butter, salsa, guac, yogurt, etc.), it has to abide by the liquid restrictions.
@@teresawelter7530 yeah, that was really weird. I thought she was going to say that when you got to your destination, you could pop them in the microwave and have them for dinner. Definitely a bad idea to refreeze them. All of this woman’s videos are weird. I am not subscribed to her channel. I don’t know why they keep passing through my feed.
@@jbates725I’ve eaten Amy products . I still wouldn’t refreeze frozen vegetarian / Vegan food unless I want to ruin my holiday with a bout of food poisoning ! 😬🤣
We take food on the plane all the time on domestic flights. W pack them in a small cooler pack similar to hers. We take our yeti bottles and when we pass through security we get either ice tea or fill them with water. We take mandarin orange already sectioned in baggies, mini belle cheese, protein bars. We have even gotten sandwiches like subway or breakfast sandwiches. Never a problem. Just be respectful and don’t bring anything on the plane like tuna salad or any smelly food. And no nuts. Sometimes we only have enough time to use the restroom and freshen up when changing planes and no time for food. You can get really hungry when you are flying 6 hrs and longer.
My tip is use packing cubes for clothes, and write on them with permanent marker tops / pants / underwear. You will never rummage through your suitcase again!
I agree . I have mine with a bit of netting so I can see what’s inside and don’t need to label them . They’re great for unpacking . It takes minutes . I unpack and put away my clothes as soon as I get into my hotel room , then shower . Meanwhile my sister is still rummaging through her suitcase looking for her clothes and laying them one by one on her bed ! . 😂😂
@@cherrymetha3185 I have a few different models of mesh ones. Some are hopeless for seeing through! The latest set I have come with a small clear window to tuck a label, so you don't have to write directly into it. I'm yet to find a set that doesn't have me rummaging though checking every cube! I'd prefer a mixed colour set, or some other differentiator! Yes - since I got them, I actually unpack in hotels. Even for a 2 night stay. Even 1 really. It's just easier when everything is where it belongs. You get on a real roll on a long trip with many stops.
Some of these tips are bad in terms of food poisoning concerns. Unless your flight is really short doing some of these will result in you getting food poisoning
Packing food is fine if you're not travelling internationally and staying withing the United States, but if you're flying outside your own country you can do this. The same for liquids.
Why do you worry about taking so much food? My carry on usually has extra clothes, bathing suit, etc in case airline loses my luggage. You can get food anywhere but if they lose your clothes or makeup, it's pricey to have to replace them.
It’s good to carry snacks on board . However, I agree to carry what you said too. I carry my meds and an extra set of light clothes inc underwear , in case my travel clothes get wet or dirty . On on flight , I had a woman accidentally spill an entire drink on me . And she was the one who started crying for sympathy from the air stewardesses and she got it ! Then she smiled and winked at me ! She and the air stewardesses were total b*tches .
We flew two weeks ago only thing we could bring is stuff we bought at airport stores expensive of course but I was able to take my empty water bottle to put the bottled water I bought there
Been traveling over 55 years. Sometimes i go around the world 15 times a year. Never did i think about frozen burritos. I learn something new every day.
The insulated bag is an interesting idea. I was gonna get insulated sandwich bags for sandwiches on the plane, but it never occurred to me to get fully insulated hand luggage. I’m flying economy with Qatar from London to Australia, with a stop in Doha… to visit my brother and I’m absolutely dreading such long flights.
I always take some bottle or cup with me, just make sure it is empty before the security, and then can fill it in from fountain water station after security. Works well in plane too.
Chopped soft Fruit even in an insulated bag goes soggy and is inedible . An orange is good if you want something refreshing. I don’t see the point of Frozen Burritos. Airports are warm and so are overhead lockers for your bags , so they defrost quickly and emit water and become soggy . You can’t refreeze them and you can’t get a freezer in a hotel room! . I take homemade sandwiches which are eaten in the departure lounge and I also take snacks for inflight . (We all empty our Evian sport water bottles before we enter the entire departure area and on board just ask the air steward to fill the bottles and dispose of them before we land )
I'm going to freeze uncrustable pbj sandwiches and pack them for my long flight. By time they thaw, I'll be able to eat one. I ordered a vegetarian meal for the flight but afraid I won't get it so at least I'll have some protein to eat.
Wait... in America they let you carry fruit and vegetables on an airplane??? Most countries I know would never let you because you might risk a cross contamination of insects of plant diseases between states / countries.
from my experience, you CAN bring fruits and veggies if they are peeled and cut up. You CANNOT bring them on the plane whole. Had an orange and apple taken away because they were in their whole form(nevermind that they sold it to me iN the terminal area and had no signs saying”must eat before boarding” ). 🤦🏻♀️
You can in the states but not when going from island to island in Hawaii. I bought a fruit bowel at the airport in Oahu and had to toss it as they wouldn’t let me take it to the big island.
I thought you weren't allowed to bring fruits and vegetables on the plane? or is that just internationally? do these tips work for international flights?
I'm so mad at my younger self for not being braver and going on to become a flight attendant like I wanted to. I did go to college and became a legal assistant. Fun....wow!!!(....no it wasn't fun)
@@susanoswald7357 I'm 62 y.o. and I don't think they would take me now lol! The profile photo was taken just before the pandemic lock down in 2020, when I turned 60
You cannot take liquids through TSA you guys are right, but you can take them on a plane. She is saying that when you’re done with your snack AFTER you pass TSA you can fill it up with water, probably at a water fountain that many airports have 🥴. Also not all food will get confiscated. I think she’s been through enough airports to know what she’s talking about. Relax, she’s giving tips on how to make your traveling experience easier it’s not that serious
I’ve brought food onto planes countless times.. even burgers and 1oz sauce cups.. I’ve never had an issue. Certain foods may be restricted, but overall, most food is allowed. I’ve flown to several different states on several different airlines. The only issue I’ve ever briefly encountered was bringing alcohol onto a plane. And as long as any liquids are under 3oz and fit into a clear, quart-sized bag, then they’re also allowed. As are empty water bottles that can be filled up after passing through security.
Why not skip the cold foods, just pack stuff that doesn't need refrigeration? That's what I do: PBJ sandwiches, granola bars, tangerines, apple slices, etc.
Pro tip dehydrate your fruits and veggjes before your flight or DO NOT BRING THEM tsa has very weird and complicated rules with food and fruits and stuff dry food is your best friend
🤔Burritos will THAW-OUT, then u want to REFREEZE them? 🤔I Don't THINK THAT IS VERY SANITARY. 🤔where's the family's DRINKS? 🤔so the only snacks u have for kids to travel is fruit & maybe vegs (which is probably more for you to two)…. And no drinks for even emergency 😮
It's only a flight. Why can't you just make due? Its not like youre traveling to Siberia. Can you actually bring all those things onto the plane after having your carry-on checked. People are so babyish anymore.
I’m kinda confused. I hope by packing these snacks and food, they are meant for the road to the airport and not the airplane itself. Because I have never been to an airport where during check in they allow outside foods and drinks in.
You can bring food onto a plane. She never said to fill it up with liquids before security. After security, you can put water in a bottle. Some airports have water fountains that have a spot for bottles...
Food is definitely allowed. I’ve flown plenty and always bring food and never have an issue… though certain types of foods may be restricted, like certain types of fruits.
