Two Ex- Western Maryland EMD engines are used to shuttle the passengers/participants along for the Trains Magazine sponsored "Welcome Back #1309" photo freight train charter excursion by the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. Seen here heading east into Brush Tunnel in Cumberland, Maryland, to pick up the passengers to proceed to the next spot west. Notice the Nathan AirChime M5 air horn on the second unit. Locomotives: PNLX 7436(EMD SD35, Ex- WM, Ex- BN, Ex- BNSF, Ex- GCK , Built 1964) & PNLX 7471(EMD SD40M-2, Ex- WM, Ex- CSX, Ex- GCK, Ex- HLCX, Ex- MKCX, Built 1966). I don't like that K5LA horn on that SD40 locomotive I wish they would put something a little more vintage like the model of horn that it originally wore when it worked for the Western Maryland Railroad
