I REALLY need to hear these monitors at 4:58. Mark from Audio Alchemist looks like a dude promoting stereo equipment to audiophiles in the 70s at Studio 54. His delivery is so laid back and smooth that he could probably get prostitutes to sprinkle samples of cocaine on their topless breasts and sell narcotics to uniformed officers at an FOP convention and not get arrested. completely Nonsense! u modulate the tweeter High frequencies with extrem short wavelengths with the midrange way longer waves and excursions of the cone. Have u ever heard abt Doppler ? All coaxial drives units have this problem. BTW the price ist extremely high, the value of drivers is under 400$ per box,
Sorry, but this a fundamental misrepresentation of the science at play here. Even at maximal linear excursion, the difference between the tweeter and midrange motion is within quarter wave summation at 30,000 cycles, which is where we lowpass the speaker anyways. The tweeter is long since beaming by then anyways as well - there’s no way around that regardless of waveguide shape. So, no, the Doppler effect is not relevant at these frequencies. Also, you’re incorrect about the cost of our drivers - we spent a vast amount of money and time developing these, they are not stock drivers, and that’s a tiny fraction of the cost of building these. High precision machining, hand made assembly and finishing in Brooklyn, Valchromat cabinets, all Hypex Ncore amplification, AKM velvet sound conversion and ultra low jitter clocking, even advanced magnesium materials science in our plates for higher damping and thermal transfer, an individual SHARC DSP per loudspeaker to host our computationally demanding calibration, not to mention the years of time and money that went into developing our unique approach to DSP calibration, and into the integration of the materials science and geometries themselves. You get a lot for your money relative to equivalently priced traditional analog monitors, and you would not be able to build an equivalent monitor from a kit regardless of price.
Dev Avidon Yeah, I guess internet guy sees a novel driver not manufactured by the speaker designer and assumes they’re getting ripped off. Particularly since lots of hifi speaker manufacturers make fancy looking cabinets, put relatively inexpensive drivers in em, and charge a small fortune for the resulting products. Can’t blame them for being wary, particularly when coax designs have only just recently become viable (to my ears, anyway) thanks to modern engineering like the finite element analysis you employed here. Gotta say, I for one am extremely interested in your offerings. +/-15deg phase across 50-30kHz?! SORCERY! 🤣 I have questions about time domain performance. Particularly regarding filter resonance with 8th order crossovers, and with pre-ringing artifacts for bass transients... But I’m suspecting that’s all proprietary, or at least should be guarded as such until you can get patents pending or until someone else figures it out. Or that there’s always a compromise in loudspeaker design, and that’s the only one you ultimately had to make. Altogether, the specs on your website are astonishing. I am very eager to hear a pair, as well as to see a waterfall plot. Congratulations on launching your brand and product line!!! And on forging what may be as close to a “no-compromises” design as may be possible by leveraging next generation materials science, modern dsp capability, and solid scientific design criteria. Truly amazing, considering loudspeaker design to date has frustratingly always been summed up best as “a horrible series of compromises”. Big ups.
