Without something existing between her and him, there's no reason to be scared over photos that might (or might not) exist. And because she didn't acknowledge that part of the story, it seemed odd for her to be easily manipulated to agree to something she didn't have to.

It’s such a waste that we couldn’t see THIS Daisy in Momoland. I would have stanned. I know MLD and most kpop companies try to hide their idol’s personality and just show a fun nice version of themselves. But I think this version of Daisy would have been a best seller especially in variety shows. Crying for all the idols who had to hide their psyche just to abide to a company’s preset image for them.

She was 19, she just got home from a (presumably) stressful schedule, it was suddenly brought upon her without prior notice (remember, went directly from the airport), and she was made to speak with a higher up who kept pressuring her and kept pointing out that SHE will be getting the short end of the stick if SHE makes the wrong decision. And if we make a few more assumptions, I'm assuming she doesn't even have her manager to speak for her as she was directly being questioned. This is all on top of all the other problems that she had, as this is supposedly the "least of her problems". It is kinda fair that she cracked under all the pressure and manipulation.
Eh, technically, people weren't pulling info out of their a**. They were just going by the info the company posted via the media, who acts as a rep for the artist. Plus, it has happened multiple times before where an artist denies a relationship only for photo/ video evidence to come out afterwards, and everyone looks stupid. Sooo in a way, "John" was probably assuming his 19 year old artist was lying because she was scared of getting in trouble, especially, as not once in this video (unless I might be comprehending what she's saying wrong) did you categorically say no I'm not dating this dude so just deny it, it doesn't matter. She was trying to say that this John guy thought there were pictures or evidence (I think the article claimed they had evidence??) so they were pressuring Daisy to confirm it in case evidence came out and made her look like a liar. Daisy wanted to deny it cause she knew there wasn't any evidence but she got coerced into confirming since she was young and thought the company knew what they were doing (they didn't). Idk why her company didn't just deny it especially when the guy's company was going to deny it.
