Sam Darnold and Geno Smith have both looked awesome this year, Sam is undefeated and playing turnover free football, while Geno Smith is racking up a ton of passing yards while also completing over 74% of his passes for the Seattle Seahawks! I wanted to share my thoughts on the former NY Jets quarterbacks looking good so far! As always..Go Jets!

It takes time, something losing teams don't have. If the Jets ever get consistently good, then maybe we'll have the opportunity to keep people longer and let them get as good as they can get.

It’s interesting Sam said he learned from Brock Purdy. I have noticed all QBs look better in Minnesota. Last year they had some real scrubs looking like top 20 QBs. I love Purdy but I’m confident any team other than the Niners would have messed him up. It’s frustrating how some teams like the Jets and Bears seem to just ruin QBs.

100% agree with you JC. Also, New York is not an easy place to play as a rookie quarterback. At the very least, it's not for everyone. Especially not for a player who is not comfortable in front of the media. Sam Darnold is still not comfortable elsewhere, even in Minnesota. That said, I believe that the atmosphere in a locker room and the support a QB receives is extremely important. Also, Kevin O'Connell >>> Mike Zimmer.

I root for them as well JC. My issues with fans and the NY Press is that the majority of them tend to avoid criticizing and calling out the elephant in the room named the Jets’ organization’s inability to take the right approach to grooming young QBs who need patience on and off the field. We certainly saw flashes from Sam Darnold when he was with the Jets and Darnold also started out well with the Panthers for the first few games when he was QB 1 there. I think it usually takes a few years for guys to develop at the QB position because the defense are more complicated in the NFL and the athletes on defense are much better. Also the Jets never surrounded Sam with the talent or coaching he has received in S.F. or Minnesota.
@johnnyjets2343
@johnnyjets2343 3 дня назад
Am i the only fan that is at least wondering what the plan at QB is after this season or whenever Rodgers retires? I just don't want them to go back to being what they always have been over the last 14 years at that position. They have to make a plan for Aaron's successor. Especially so if you are this coaching staff and get extensions because of Rodgers play.
@kdude25
@kdude25 3 дня назад
Never really liked the Geno pick. I didn't think he could be an NFL QB. And I always liked Sam, thought if he coukd control his turnovers he could be an NFL starter and even a top QB in the league. I'm happy both are succeeding. Just because they didn't work here doesn't mean we should be hating on them. Geno just wasn't nearly ready. He needed years to sit back and learn. Darnold, he had Adam Gase and Robbie Anderson as his HC and WR #1. They completely mishandled Darnold. And I'm rooting for him so hard to put his mark on the league as a legit NFL starting caliber qb. So it's definitely good to see.
@johnnyjets2343
@johnnyjets2343 3 дня назад
It is not so much hating on them as much as it is just jealousy that things did not work out here. Jets fans want so badly to have a homegrown drafted and developed QB of their own for the next decade plus. Rodgers for as great as he is will only be around for 1 maybe 2 years. Jets gotta figure out the QB position for the long haul otherwise they will consistently be basement dwellers.

Instead of trading Darnold and drafting another QB Jets could have drafted an Olineman. Mims didn't have a bad rookie season considering he was injured. This is what happens when you have a terrible organization that cannot properly evaluate and develop talent. The Aaron Rodgers quick fix is an admission of this. The Jets have had chance after chance to identify and develop a young quarterback. They cannot do it because of poor management , inadequate rosters, and terrible coaching. Jet fans are so desperate they accept this and are willing to look the other way now that Rodgers is on the scene for a small window of opportunity. The way to win NFL championships is to have an organization that puts an excellent product on the field year after year thus increasing the chances of making deep playoff runs. If Aaron Rodgers is somehow able to deliver a championship to the Jets, Jet fans are so beat down they will except another 55 years of losing, rather than demanding a proper organization, with proper coaching, and a consistently good to excellent roster.

Both are being 3-0 shows the owners incompetency when hiring staff. With every game they have that they do good, it makes this franchise, and it's owner look like a dumpster fire. It shows the country how the Jets function and it's not good. Johnson stands behind the ass, gets kicked in the face, and never learns. Good franchises, draft a QB and sit them till they are ready. Yea their maybe a player who can land on his feet running. So what you did is expose the truth, and that is the Jets drafted 3 good QBs since Sanchez, but miss handled them.
