I am a retired high school science teacher. I retired due to becoming extremely ill the day it was reported that 3 drug dealing students were overheard saying they would take me out. It is believed something was put into a drink on my desk. The threat was right before spring break the year of COVID, when we never returned to school. I did not put my illness together with the timeline of the threat until my illness escalated into serious heart arrhythmias and a trip to the emergency room. I ended up needing a heart ablation to return my heart rhythm to normal. Everyone knew these kids were dangerous, and knew they sold drugs, and were present when a murder took place in a nearby city; yet they were never expelled from public school. My health never returned to where it was before the day of the threat. American children are forced to sit in class beside students who are known to be dangerous, because the rights of criminals supersedes the rights of the honest student who wants an education.

As a retired CDCR OFFICER, the inmates all have two things in common. Little education & Little to no father figure in their life.

The everyday people are the best speakers. Most effective

This RNC is Off the Hook! I'll start watching these Conventions if they are like this one! People, this is what will unite the American People. We must put all of our differences aside and start loving one another and have patience for those who can't see what we see!

Wow, Annette Albright is spot on. I've worked in the school system in a small rural area. We don't have the violence like some larger city schools BUT there is no discipline, no respect, no accountability, and many of the principals/teachers are scared of the system especially scared of our Superintendents and parents. Teachers feel like their hands are tied unable to do anything much. Our resource officers are limited as to what they can do. We have liberals, democrats, and woke folks that is taking over our school system and dictating to everyone. It is time we take our school system back and silence these folks that are here to ruin our children and the school system. Parents are accountable in this also. Your kids aren't privileged, there not better than someone's kids, STOP raisin your kids like they are entitled. STOP raising your kids to be disrespectful monsters. Parents should hold your children accountable for their actions and should be a disciplinarian to their children - not a friend. Take the time to teach children the difference between right and wrong and have empathy for others. You don't see much of this anymore from our children. If we don't stop this - our education and children are going to be lost forever. All we going to have is a bunch thugs walking around not working but will take what they want. I'm amazed how disrespectful adults and children are to elderly people. Our kids are raised to be very disrespectful. I’ve been a public/charter school teacher in NYC for 11 years and it’s true what this woman is saying. School officials and principles support violent and disorderly behaviors from students and they never supported us teachers who have to teach in a classroom all day long with these types of students. I had 30 students in my classroom and when a student was disruptive and violent towards other students I would call the deans to come support so that I can focus on the other 29 students. The deans were instructed by the principal to take the student out of the classroom for a conversation and they would then return the student to the classroom and in egregious cases where this unruly student would touch another student inappropriately that student would go to the principals office where they got to color, get treats and a “talking to” by the principal and then returned to the classroom because they refused to suspend them. I cant wait to vote Trump all the way!!!! NYC needs to be addressed asap with a fine tooth brush to regain order in many ways.

As someone who went to public high school, there is a lot of violence. This was back in the No Child Left Behind program. That program dumbed down a lot of the curriculum.

America must have school choice in every state. If every state has school choice the public schools would get their act together and start actually teaching the students. They would only teach math, science, english, history and civics.

This issue was a significant factor in my decision to leave teaching. I returned to the school system in a non-teaching role, but after a recent incident, I have decided to step away entirely. There is a pervasive lack of student accountability, which appears to be a systemic problem across multiple states where I have worked. The grading system is flawed, with students progressing despite not being able to read or write proficiently. Furthermore, we are not permitted to assign a zero grade; instead, the lowest possible grade is now a 50%.

ELON MUSK HAS BEEN SAYING WE URGENTLY NEED TO CHANGE THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM, TO IMPROVE AND EXPAND AND DEVELOP OUR CHILDREN' TO THEIR HIGHEST POTENTIAL.. LET'S MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!

I had a stroke in front of my class. My class sizes were huge and there was zero discipline in our school. My smallest class was 36 and my largest classes were 52 and 53. Horrible administrators.

Please know what this young woman mentioned regarding the Obama policy is true. It was AG Holder who pushed a policy of "disparate impact" in 2010. This lead to students not being suspended in schools via the DOE and then the development of "assessment centers" within juvenile court systems across America - i know, i worked in an assessment center for four years as an assessment case manager. This policy had "BOI" or best of intentions but became known as "Hugs for Thugs" by the police, probation and court staff. The program was highlighted by an HBO Show "Raised in the System" hosted by Michael K. Williams, perhaps best known for his role as the robber-of-drug dealers Omar on the hit HBO show “The Wire.” In truth, it isn't helping and is creating long term, systemic issue.

We need a change people! Biden has been a disaster!!!

If the republicans party can actually explain their plan for education and teachers, they may sway more people. They said they will get rid of the Dept of Education without a clear plan explained on how that will phase out. Vance is leaving women disgusted after every public appearance. Taxes are too high and inflation is a crisis no one is talking about. I’m tired of hearing negative comments about both parties and not enough about the first 100 days and first year.
