At a very young age, my folks taught me right from wrong and I'm so glad they did. They also taught me to stay informed, learn about each candidate so one could make a smart decision. Trump had no platform; no foreign policy. I knew he had gone bankrupt and there were so many other red flags, it was a no-brainer, I'm so glad I voted for Clinton in 2016.

Cassidy is such an incredibly brave person, and her cautious demeanor in every public appearance shows just how difficult it is to find yourself after rejecting such a controlling power dynamic at such a young age. It's terrible that she has to be so careful, that she is threatened just for believing and speaking the truth, but she handles it with an intelligent and deft hand. Not only that, but the people who are willing to give her a platform disagree with her politics, and so she not only has to speak carefully to not anger the MAGA base, but to represent her conservative values to people who disagree. That's an impossibly fine line to walk, and she handles it like a champ. Thank you for braving this fight, Ms. Hutchinson.

I've struggled some with just what "conservative" might emotionally stand for - I've been apolitical all my life, but these last seven years have drawn me into understanding the mayhem that's unfolded since DT appeared on the political scene. It strikes me lately that what, among other things, that "stability" is a key issue for so called 'conservatives' in their emotional state. They will gravitate to what makes them feel "comfortable" in that sense. So, what they're attending to is an illusion of what's "supposed to be" to keep stable and on some kind of traditional course. Problem is, nature doesn't work that way, it's moving, perhaps incrementally, but moving. The GOP fights movement in every which way but the situations keep requiring that they move with it and apply real values to govern which they're currently failing at.

Cassidy testified under oath to the J6 committee when people far more experienced and senior would not. Some, like Cipillone, did do the right-ish thing eventually while others, like Meadows, are now facing charges. It's one thing to be called as a witness and give depositions, quite another to go on national TV as the first major witness who saw some of it.

I think current GOP and fundamental R values are different. But you're right, I don't know who she could possibly support until the swamp is actually drained, and something tells me it's going to be a long long time til someone matches what she has in her mind.

I guess it's like religion: people who are raised in the church just can't understand why I, a person who was raised with absolutely no religion, would find their belief in what I plainly see as a belief in 'magic', for lack of a better word, so hilariously ridiculous, while they believe it so deeply it is very real to them. What we have to focus on at this point is offering people caught in this cult reasonable escape hatches, and offering understanding and compassion to those who manage to get out. Judging Cassidy for her original support of Trump at this point achieves nothing, it merely makes it less likely others will be brave enough to take the plunge and get out themselves. This movement will outlast Trump, you can be sure of that. The more Cassidy Hutchinson's we can turn to the light side the weaker the movement becomes. The MAGA people who are starting to secretly harbour doubts need to see us welcoming defectors, not judging and attacking them. It's up to us as reasonable, sane and compassionate people not to be vindictive and judgemental towards those getting out. Breaking from your "tribe" is one of the hardest things anyone can do. If enough of the MAGA movement isn't deprogrammed somehow, we will end up in a civil war. It took a holocaust to snap the nazi's out of their haze. I don't know what its going to take to wake up the MAGA people, but we've gotta do something before that man destroys this country any more than he already has.

Yep, let's forget about who was an active part of this whole mess. Let's just forgive everything and wish them better luck next time they try it. And golddiggers like her will gladly pick up their role in that attempt again. This is not about shame - it is about responsibility. She worked to make it happen. She will never be a good person. If she tries hard enough, she might not leave earth as a net-loss for mankind, but I doubt it.

Yeah, but I'm just a minute and twenty seconds into the interview and he's already interrupted her twice. I start focusing on what she's saying, then he interrupts with something totally different. Makes the interview hard to follow.

@@martavdz4972 it was hard to follow because she was nervous. She was trying to pick the right words when no words were wrong. Remember, she worked in an administration that painted late night talk show hosts like they were evil and always antagonistic towards conservatives.

Of course, Hutchinson’s absurdity was plain to see from the beginning. As she herself noted, she was not in the car when the supposed incident took place and had no firsthand knowledge of the president’s actions, only hearsay. But her tall tale offered her the first opportunity to transform from lowly White House aide to celebrity grifter.
