this is why I love baseball, always so much to talk about and speculate on! let’s go O’s, but Kyle Bradish getting hurt is not good. with Burns, rotation was looking deadly. we’ll see.

Liked & subscribed. Okay, let me state upfront that I'm an Orioles fan, and it was refreshing to hear an analysis that approaches the subject objectively for a change. Had you argued for the Yankees coming in first, I can see a case for that as well, although their players across the board tend to be older than those on the O's roster. Among New York regular position players, DJ LeMahieu, Aaron Judge, Anthony Rizzo, and Giancarlo Stanton are on the wrong side of 30, and quite a bit past it in the cases of LeMahieu (DOB 1988), Rizzo (1989) and Stanton (1989). This doesn't mean, of course, that they necessarily are going to run out of gas--though LeMahieu and Stanton struggled enough in 2023 to raise some eyebrows--but the risk of injury tends to be greater in older players. Conversely, all of Baltimore's starting position players with the exception of Ryan O'Hearn will start the season under 30. Add to that how the franchise's upper minors are so packed--even overloaded--with excellent young prospects (way more than the Yankees for a change) that an even younger replacement can be called up in case of injury, and the O's won't miss a beat. How deep, you ask? So deep that you gave a good review of the Orioles, but neglected to even mention baseball's number one prospect, Jackson Holliday, who just recently turned 20! That's how deep. One last comparison regarding ages: As for each team's ace, Gerit Cole turns 34 in September, while Corbin Burnes only turns 30 in October. A full recovery from TJ surgery for John Means would be huge. Not only did he throw a no-hitter (one pitch away from a perfect game, marred only by a wild pitch on a strikeout) and be selected for an All-Star Game, but when he came back off the IL late last season, he had an outing where he carried a no-hitter into the seventh. He definitely can pitch, and the Orioles quite likely are going to need him healthy to get back to the playoffs this year.

Baz was wrong by the way, he tore his UCL mid 2022, which is why he missed last season. Rays at 82 wins is a joke, eventually you guys will learn that the Rays never truly "get worse" and that it's just on paper

O's have an easy first month and I expect them to fully capitalize on it. O's go 26-4 the first 30 games.
@Galantski
@Galantski 6 месяцев назад
Very possible. And they're too talented to have a great first month, only to fade like the Rays did last year.

lol!! 26-4, I mean you were actually serious? No question The Orioles are very good but you need to lower your expectations, they’re not going to win 120 games

Spencer Jones is not a 1B. He is an OF. They may try to move him to first. That all depends if they can resign Soto which I think they will not. I see Soto going to the Mets.

How many will they have?
@sujanpatel3900
@sujanpatel3900 6 месяцев назад
Golden rule is to never doubt the rays in the regular season, I think they'll finish with 95 wins. They got to 99 last year even with most of their rotation decimated with injuries. got rid of glasnow but got back a couple pieces that will have direct contributions to this year's team. I respect your prediction as it is your opinion but to base it off of just being tired of the rays having success with a low payroll is a weak argument My prediction is the Orioles will regress a lot and finish in the high 80's. @@WeKnowBallSports

Spencer Jones wont be in majors this year, generally bad take about Yankees and very disrespectful. They gonna win division.

Wishful thinking. The Orioles will repeat & the Yankees will finish right behind them. But it's definitely a two-team race between those two.

@brandondillman5841

@@VVUC_ The Yankees got better, but the O's didn't have anything else to improve. Their organizational depth across the board is insane. They have arguably the best front office in baseball and now they have one of the wealthiest ownership groups in all of sports. Not only are they drafting and developing players at an insane rate, they now have the money to resign all of them and add big time free agents.

@VVUC_
@VVUC_ 6 месяцев назад
@@jojofreelancer1210 I mean that NYY added Soto, Verdugo, Stroman and Grisham. They have much better roster than year before and much, much better lineup than last year. It's not a disrespectful, but a fact. This year it's gonna be interesting rivalry, but don't tell me that Soto and Judge are not scary.
