Please I want to inquire if you have access to NLS Past Questions and answers ? I would appreciate it so much as I am planning on going for the next NLS November 2023 batch. Also, I am currently working on a project that aims to compile all the available past questions from inception till date and make it available online for easy access for all prospective LS candidates. The frame work of the entire project is currently ongoing and the major challenge has been on acquiring accurate relevent past questions. I will appreciate any form of assistance I can get from you. @@Villagetimestories You're welcome. I don't have NLS past questions but that's a wonderful initiative you want to embark upon. I also wish you success at the NLS. Also keep in mind that the CAMA and RPC have changed and probably some other laws, when compiling older questions. Cheers.

Hi Ola, I just started following your insightful and educative channel. I am following you from Sierra Leone and I must state from the outset that my country and Nigeria operate analogues legal systems. Would you oblige us with guide and details on Custody and Maintenance actions, not forgetting to shed light on Domestic Matters generally. In a case of separation, who does the law give custody of a child? If a wife packs out of the house, can she ask for maintenance from the husband and vice versa?

Can a defendant also be asked to tell the court why he is in court by telling his story? Thank you learned counsel.

Yes. Ask the WH questions and then tender their witness statement on oath. Then you can begin to ask questions that help them tell the story or simply ask them why they are there. The first response will determine if you need to ask more questions to guide them. But you must ensure they stick to their depositions, not straying and telling just any story.

If counsel ends examination in chief but forgot to tender an important evidence and a witness, how can such new evidence and witness be reintroduced and by what application ? Thank you ma

If you have closed your case you cannot reopen it I'm afraid. But if you're still calling witnesses all you need do is amend your position by filing a motion to amend your list of witnesses. Once the court grants it, you can bring in your witness and tender the evidence through him.

Hi counsel ola, it's been a while, I have this tenancy matter that is giving me headache, the defendant shows up after examination in chief, by filing a written statement on oaths, the tenant is claiming he was not served with any notices . But we did. Cross examination is going on,
