I think Followers getting in the way is a gaming staple. Derrin here isn't too bad, especially when compared to Bethesda game followers. The dog in Fallout 4 got in my way and tripped me up so much that I banished him to a gas station and went Lone Wolf for the rest of that run and for every play through since. To this day, I try to avoid followers/companions unless the game is designed around them, like in Dragon Dogma, or they are very useful, which is rare.
