The operator of an excavator sits in a small cabin called the "cab," which is usually located on a rotating platform called the "house." This allows the operator to have a 360-degree view of the work area.
Excavators have a long arm called the "boom" that is used to reach and dig into the ground. At the end of the boom, there is a bucket that scoops up the material.
Oliver and Lucas observe that this excavator is equipped with tracks instead of wheels. The tracks help the excavator move smoothly over rough or muddy terrain.
