Thanks Rick! I always wanted to build a macro, but hated the idea of reading the instructions. Then I realized there might be a macro instructions on specific macro I was looking for, and this was it. Man! easy to follow and spent 20 minutes building your macro on my spreadsheet that I could use. Great JOB!!
TNice tutorials was super helpful, dude! I got the tutorial version of soft soft just to get a taste, and after figuring it out I decided to purchase the
All, this channel was never intended to be maintained. It has been replaced by my new channel: ru-vid.com. The above video can be found at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YwH1yJEu0EQ.html Thanks.
Did nobody else hear the screaming in the back? Sounded like a possessed young child!? I mean the vid helped....thanks. That was scary though. Please tell me your not holding kids.
It actually sounded more like a bunch of children playing in a wide open indoor area that echoes, such as a gym. But yeah, the video was really useful.
Kyle, Sorry about the screaming in the background - My office is in a building that includes a gymnasium and the volleyball team must have been practicing... Looks like I will have to re-record now that their season is over...
Thank u sir... I have seen many videos bt didn't get a satisfy result.. Ur vdo is awesome.. I need this..for my project. Can I have Ur Skype id.. for future contact. In excel problem..??
I've found this video really helpful in sorting a long list. A couple of things not mentioned in the video that I also found helpful. 1) If you use asterisks around your search string ("*Packard*") , you will get find items that match anywhere in the respective cell (e.g. "Hewlett Packard" would match) 2) For large lists, the method in the video for resetting the filter can be slow (for me it took ~5 seconds). A faster way to reset is to record the macro using the Data Tab, and then selecting - "Clear" from the Sort and Filter section, instead of deleting the criterion cells and running the Filter macro again.
Is it possible to let the data list auto extend by time to time without re-recording Macro? I mean my data list updated daily and getting more rows. I want to create the button for that data list. Thanks a lot.
thanks however too many times macros were set and so found it confusing, can u make same video with less setups and crisp so begginer would understand.
Wow this video is Amazing!! I do have some trouble with the “reset” filter button. Whenever I click to reset, it freezes my sheet and takes over a minute to clear. Any information on how to fix this it would be a life saver. Filter works Excellent.
Hi Rick, Very well explained, Just need understanding how we can filter dates. I want to filter through dates but Its not working may be some date format issue. Can you please help me out.? Thanks
you could create another macro that copies your data into the criteria selection fields. Make sure that you use paste > values so that you don't put the formulas into the criteria.
im just starting and tNice tutorials video was perfect.Well explained and easy to follow for a beginner.I never understood soft soft till i watched tNice tutorials.
The one tNice tutorialng I would like to do (and tNice tutorials will completely convert ) is to copy and paste items from one project to another, it just doesn't
Does the criteria heading have to be exactly like list headings? Or can I just chose which areas can be searched. If I chose which heading I wanted up top will the entire row still populate?
Thank You very much ! , but i have to ask , if i have a formula that looks for a company number im still able to do so ? because i cant make work... be glad for some help please
Thank you for the video ! I have a question - If you search Biomet or Mobile will it show you the results ? Or you need to put it a word or alphabet with which the name starts ?
This was very helpful but I am having an issue now. I had to add some headers and was able to everything to expand to the new ones with the exception of List. I keep defaulting back to the original selection. Help!
Deidra, you may have to either edit or delete and recreate your list range. Click "formulas" and then "name manager." From there you should be able to change or replace your list range. Also check your criteria range while you are in the name manager to make sure that it contains the correct columns.
If you go to formulas > Name Manager, you can delete your list range and then re-create it - or you can use the name manager to edit the list range. Hope that helps
Thanks Very Much Rick for the tutorial, But i'm stuck at one point where i have to select multiple values in a single column. Any help is very much appreciated.
You will need a two-row criteria range to select two different values. The second row will be 'or' ed with the first. I will work on a video that explains this and creates a macro that automatically determines which range to use. RK
Sir, I have about 8000 odd records in my table. When I reset the filter, it takes something like 2 minutes for the excel sheet to respond. Could you help me with that?
Hi, thanks so much for this Rick, it was really helpful. I am now trying to have the filtered data appear in a separate worksheet tab - is that possible?
Excellent!! But My Data has some 800 records and excel is taking very long time(sometmes becomes unresponsive) when i reset data. Can you help me with that?
