My attempt at Excel BI's fifth challenge!
I got to a solution quick enough for this one, but hit a stumbling block in my attempt to convert all my steps into a LET.
I'm sure someone more intelligent than me will help me understand why what I tried didn't work!

Hi Giles, some functions dont like arrays like that. They require an actual Range. RANK.EQ and SUMIFS are examples. if you put an calculated array, as you had into the range argument of the function, you will not get an answer. Other functions have you process an array, before they work on arrays. EDATE is en example here. You cant just EDATE(G5:G8,2). you have to do something with the array first. for example EDATE(""&G5:G8,2). than it actualls spills. for your RANK problem, if you want a ranking you can also just compare each value with all the others and check how many are larger: =MAP(SCORE,LAMBDA(w,1+SUM(--(w

It’s a rite of passage, the first time you try to use an array-unfriendly function in a LET! Honestly, I didn’t even know RANK was one of them, because I almost never use it, but you’ll hit this a lot with the _IFS functions. You’ll get in the habit of working around them pretty quickly though.

I am embracing this rite of passage fully!
