Wednesbury is a small town situated close to Willenhall, Walsall, Wolverhampton and West Bromwich, part of the historically industrious "Black Country" area of the West Midlands conurbation. It has a Victorian church at the highest point in the local area, which has a tower and spire.
In the tower is a peal of 10 bells, which were cast and hung in 1912 by Gillett & Johnston of Croydon. The tenor weighs 24-0-18 (1227kg) and is in Eb.
A view of the tenor can be had by clicking on the "linked video" just below.
The bells are hung on 2 levels, with the 3rd, 5th, 8th and 9th hung above adjacent bells within the ring. The lower frame is a H frame and the upper frame is a low side frame. The bells are hung next to the louvres, can from some angles can actually be seen swinging and are EXTREMELY loud.
The clock is also a Gillett and Johnston installation. The bells are of superb tonal quality and the tenor is "Major Thirds", instead of a more tradiitonal minor thirds sound.

Apart from the little trips the ringing is rather enjoyable to listen to :)

There are some great Gillet bells. Ickleton, Wednesbury and Hillingdon are some bloody fantastic examples!!

@323mooman Only reason I have to visit Beds is to visit relations in Luton and Dunstable, and even that is rare. Get a camera and make some! Will be worthwhile.

Kibby, these are my idea of "typical" Gillets. Notwithstanding the major third tenor, surely you can notice the difference between these and Coventry?

@bellboy222 Aye, I certainly can. A better comparison would be between St Philips Cath, Birmingham and Coventry. Like Wednesbury, Birmingham Cath are a smooth, pretty sound whereas Coventry are a rough powerful noise.

Gilletts tweaked the profile in the mid 1920s and therefore the Major Third tenor was gone. I don’t think you can really hear Coventry’s major third.

these are wonderful sounding bells - G and J at their best!!!! What difference does major and minor thirds make to the quality of a ring of bells (or is their none?)

nope, it just means the tenor has a more.. joyful? sound (having a hum of G instead of one in F#), no real difference, and usually only the tenor is major-third tuned

@bellboy222 however there is not much difference between these and Newport Pagnell. Listen to the Bristol at NP on my channel :)
