I had to wear a brace too after I got the cast off when I broke my wrist Jacob! Was even the same arm! I found that wearing the brace made it feel better than when it was off,so I wore it most of the time. Your bunny is absolutely adorable ,great job caring for it Laura!
I just watched the videos Interviewing your first adopted son and his sister. Comments are turned off on it but I have to tell you , I cried so hard. The abuse he went through in the foster system and with his bio family and then the way yall turned their life around and showed them unconditional love. Yall are so amazing, thank you for loving all these sweet humans that weren't given the love they deserved prior to you two!!!
Jacob did a great job understanding and relaying the information of when and why to wear the brace and how to do the exercises. 🙂 Do any of the kids struggle with talking to doctors or other strangers? How do you help them overcome that? My 7 year old goes almost completely mute when strangers talk to him.
Yes some of the kids struggle talking to people so we work on small steps, often, with preparation before hand. Example we are going to the doctor so we talk about what they are expected to do ( we will make social stories if they really struggle)and that might be as simple as saying or waving hello depending on their ability and build from there. The other thing we do is have positive reinforcers for example we have the iPad with movies so “if they do their job at the appointment” they can watch a movie.
That’s really good that you have the kids check in by themselves at Dr. Appointments! I need to start having my 12 year old daughter do that! I take over in those situations! I’m glad it healed well and he has a brace just in case!
I understand wanting or needing to take over because everyone is so busy. Having the kids do it does take more time also depending on where you are they might not be as patient but it is a good skill for the kids.

Good for you Jacob, your taking good care of your arm. Your growing so tall as well. I enjoy seeing your helicopter come together. You follow the directions very well.
so glad that Jacob got his cast off. Is Jacob afraid of the cast saw? When i would get measured for my AFO's when i was young, i would cry when i would get the cast taken off. I was afraid of the noise and i was afraid that the cast saw would cut me. When i got older i wasn't afraid anymore. Hope he feels better soon.
I am glad that Jake got his cast off and wearing a brace for another 6 week and I am glad that doctors adjusted his seizure medication and I love that how all the kids love all the animals you and your husband have
My goodness Jacob has grown! Add me to the list of people who think all the kids are super cool! If I was close, I’d want to come hang out with everyone!
