I think restoring power after that terrible storm in 2 days is a marvelous achievement. Well done to your utilities company. I live in South Africa where we have-nots power for hours every single day!

Oh my goodness Kristen I'm so sorry you got hit bad with that storm. Great photo of the clouds. It really did look like a cyclone. We felt like we were in a washing machine for only a few minutes but we were so lucky. No damage. Our power was back on the same day. I can't believe how far spread the damage was. I'm so glad your ok and happy birthday Dawn💐.

I love how the indie pattern companies use models who are real women (to quote my husband) who are plus size ladies or mature ladies. I've been loving the music scene this summer. We saw Paramore in Melbourne in November, Blink 182 in Adelaide and then Melbourne, Southern Sons in Horsham and James Reyne in Adelaide on Friday. We were in Melbourne when that storm hit. We were very lucky as my sister lives in a north western suburb. However, the bushfires affected cousins in the south of the Grampians, they're ok, and we had a decent detour to contend with going home.

Hello Kristin, glad to hear you didn’t fare so badly in those storms, we missed out here thankfully! Unfortunately only 30 minutes away from me, 45 houses & businesses were lost from the Grampians bushfires. I bought the Clef coat pattern but yet to buy fabric. Happy birthday to your Mum. Sorry to hear about your storm. Hope you have an untroubled time ahead to catch up. Happy birthday 🎉 to your lovely Mum. Thanks for some great pattern suggestions. I have just finished making some gifts for a friend I will be visiting shortly (tea cosy, oven gloves) and am hoping to make a new top next weekend. The difficulty is deciding which top to make. 😊

Lovely new pattern review! I love the Itch to Stitch Margorelle blouse/dress and have plans to sew it up soon. It’s got everything I love, raglan sleeves, optional collar ruffle and button up style to boot. So glad you and your loved ones are ok from the storms. Here in the states, I live in a tornado prone region and we will soon be in spring which is tornado and strong thunderstorm season. I know what it’s like to go through a bad storm then not have electricity in the aftermath. And the need to clean up the damage. Take care. Wish your mother a belated happy birthday!

First impression was how lovely you looked in this video -the dress fabric is great on you, as is the pattern. Thanks for the info on new patterns! Glad you weren't too affected by the storm. My niece and her family live in emerald, and had a very scary time luckily fairly brief

The Style Arc Zaria looks a lot like Pattern Emporium’s Bee Mine blouse! The PE version has FBA options. I bet it could easily be lengthened into a dress…

I think the be mine would be easily lengthened into a dress too. The Style Arc pattern has a V neck option too.

Hi Kristen, love your new glasses! My favourite new release would have to be the Pattern Scout release , the Joni blouse and dress. It looks like the perfect make for the tropics. Do you think it would work in a block print? Im still working on my capsule wardrobe toiles. Most of the patterns are ones I haven't sewn before so there is a lot of tweaking.

so good to see you, Kristen and I'm glad that you were not too badly affected by the storm. My fave was the Style Arc Zalia, which is just like the P. E. Be Mine Balloon sleeve top, which can also be lengthened into a dress. I just finished making a pair of Hepburn shorts and have started the toile for the Crossneck Tiki dress by indy pattern maker, Subversive Femme :)

My favourites are the second pattern for shirts, and the last Joanne pattern especially the top. I have been sewing Vogue patterns V1102 and V1723 as I need a dress for something I did them in cotton sateen. That is very upsetting with the storm and having to lose your concert tickets. I am grateful you and family are OK.

They all look great , I was wondering how you are going with the storms that went through ,here where I live was bad enough but along Bundalong and out Yarrawonga way was total carnage as well. Can't wait to see what you been making , I think my bespoke box will come today or tomorrow so looking forward to that ,anyway have a great week and happy sewing ❤

Hello Kristen. I am so pleased to see you, I was worried about you as my bespoke box was late being sent, I forgot all about the storm, we only got the 'tail end' of it here in Bendigo. I do like all of the patterns you have presented, and I bought the Wardrobe By Me dress pattern (just in time too, as today is the last day of the 'sale'), I will take a good look at the other patterns that you presented too . What am I sewing? I made my second pair of the latest Pattern Emporium 'Just Peachy' shorts out of fabric by Spotlight. Take care xxx
