The cows are adorable! We do Scottish Highland cattle so they don't grow as big but they get some nice horns, definitely make it a bit more exciting when one of them wants attention.

They are so docile that the horns barely make a difference, just before Christmas we brought out two of our heifers (both about three years old but were raised as bottle babies) for my cousins to brush and pet, my cousins are all under seven so they were a little nervous but the girls were complete saints with them!

Which foal? Jewel and Reign will be 3, and Festus is turning 2...those are the most recent foals we have had. 🙂

Are Nikki and Festus still together and when will you wean them?

Festus was weaned over the summer, we moved Nikki to a different pasture with Diego and the ponies and left Festus with the herd. It went really well. 😁 We moved Nikki back in to the herd in the fall, so they are together again now, but Festus is fully weaned.

Did you know that if the horse has white skin around it’s eyes and you don’t put a fly mask on they can get cancer? A horse I train has white around his eyes and the owner has to keep a fly mask on so he doesn’t get cancer, I just thought I would let you know sense you have a lot of horses with white skin around the eyes.

Thanks for sharing the info! Dawn and Dancer wear fly masks pretty much all summer, but not so much in the winter.
