I knit, and the difference between the 2 wool blankets is like the difference between woolen and worsted spun yarns. Woolen spun yarns are very airy and fluffy, very light and warm, but are more delicate. Worsted spun yarns are dense, smooth and drapey, much heavier than woolen yarns but much more durable and hard-wearing. I'm curious as to how well this blanket will hold up compared to the other one.

I appreciated very much you sharing your insights based on your personal experiences with knitting. What I did not say in the video, but that I wish I would have included, is that the denser blanket is obviously a tougher blanket that is going to have a longer life. As you have hinted at and I agree with, I expect the lighter, fluffier blanket to have a shorter life and to fall apart more quickly. Now, whether that’s in five years or ten will have to be seen. Also, a lot of that probably depends on how hard I treat it and how much use I put it through. But in the meantime, it provides very high comfort.

..wool retains 80% of your heat even when wet...down won't do that, but it's really great when it's really cold. The Woods Arctic Three-Star bag, long a Canadian favorite, had a wool layer and a down layer...I had a Woods Five-Star in the early 80's, which was 2 layers of down. I slept comfortably at -25F in it....
