Let’s give the multinationals furlough money. They can then hand out only 80% of it, then they can sack their workers and hire back on worse terms. This means the richest got richer and the small businesses collapsed. Biggest transfer of wealth since … the banking crisis. Wonder what the next excuse will be to take from the poor and give to the rich.

@<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1980">33:00</a> I can corroborate this entirely. When I was Deputy head of Maths in UK, we had 6 Maths teachers missing and replaced with cover every day for a whole year - I had to plan these 120 lessons a week myself on top of my own, for non-experts so fully annotated and self guided work. The head of department had a heart attack so it was just me. The academy program had a primary school specialist as their academy chain, and they didn't have a clue. I always said I should write a book about the things that happened there. The lawsuits, the attacks, the money laundering, the corruption and bullying from leadership. Many times, teachers covering would be stuck in a chaotic environment with their head buried in the sand, asking for help and walking out. I had to teach multiple lessons at the same time, because I couldn't leave a group unsupervised. I had been told that some students didn't see a teacher all day, they turned up expecting a supply teacher who never showed and they would go home after sitting around all day. Life goes on, OFSTED never knew.

Yes, China's Wuhan lab created and held the gain-of-function SARS-CoV-2, but under the funding of a subsidiary of the NIH. The Obama administration made gain-of-function research illegal on US soil, so they paid other countries to continue the research on their soil. I think the number came out to 53 new bio labs funded by this NIH subsidiary around the world, the newest one being built in Kazakhstan. Crazy the stuff we weren't allowed to post or talk about several years ago but is now commonly accepted fact. People who subvert freedom of speech should face criminal charges.

At first I thought he was just poor at introspection, but then decided he just wasn't prepared to allow any hint of vulnerability. He was incredibly careful and diplomatic in his answers and after two hours, I really don't think much was revealed about the man. This is not due to a lack on Steven's part, he certainly tried to push back every time he was evasive. Boris took his time before starting to speak and you could almost see him deciding what to disclose. This was not an open and honest conversation on the part of BJ. It was a tightly controlled and disciplined response to questions Boris mostly considered too invasive.

This is something many interviewers fail at with Boris. 2. Absolutely fascinating seeing how uncomfortable Boris is with emotional pain. You can literally see him trying to shimmy and run away from it. It says a lot about the man behind the politician. 3. Listening to him talk about politics is also interesting and revealing. It seems that he very much went into it for competitiveness and self-esteem. And he 'played' it as a game (which I think was quite obvious to anyone who paid attention during his tenure).

Why not leverage Britian's strong influence within the EU to better the EU? The point of coming out of the EU was not for someone to have a plan beyond negotiating the exit - it was for us as a democracy to have self-determination and choose govts with parliamentary sovereignty to decide our own future and our own legislative agenda. I mean Boris's plan would not have been to now have a Labour govt but we do because we voted for that - that's democracy.

I didn’t like Steven in this interview, for the first time! I found him quite disrespectful as he kept cutting in and putting words in Boris’ mouth. He obviously doesn’t like Boris and that’s the main takeaway I got from this interview to be honest. I find the questioning around lockdown incredibly tedious and actually pointless. We’ve already wasted millions as a nation asking the question ‘should we have locked down sooner’ which we can only comment on in hindsight - instead of the more important questions such as where did it come from and why, who covered it up, who profited from this, why was data about the vaccine trials hidden from the public, why have big pharma not been held to account, why should we listen to THE WHO in future, why on earth are we considering giving up our sovereign powers to them now in light of their multiple f*** ups throughout the pandemic? I personally agree that Boris did the right thing - he waited as long as possible to lock down. Lock down has caused irreparable damage to children’s education and mental health. We left cancer patients (many young with families) to sit and home and wait to die. We let people’s businesses fail. For what? A virus that killed many less than was reported and frankly many of them were over 80 (likely to die within 5 years anyway) and obese (well aware the personal choices they made around their health would likely have multiple negative repercussions down the line.) I’m so bored of this pointless conversation and I don’t really understand why there is such an onus on bullying Boris Johnson over it when there are so many more important conversations to be had.

I am from liverpool I now live in New Zealand. Totally disgusted with Boris Johnson’s remarks about schools. My mum was a maths teacher at broughton hall and my grandad taught chemistry at Dale Salle. They where some of the more fortunate schools. The schools are massively underfunded a teacher teaching 60 children is not practical and unfair to each child. There is a reason Liverpool is not a conservative city it has been ignored for decades. The UK definitely needs a more equitable education system. NZ is much more advanced in equality they actually provide more funding to schools in lower income areas than higher income areas. They also heavily fund Maori only schools which is great. Of course there are still private schools if people desire. University is also free for the first year for all students and there is no interest on student loans. UK needs to realise they are more than just the city of London. People like Boris are the problem!

@@Tommy-jl9dm NZ is not a rich country at all. Immigration is insane here… look it up. It’s funny because in the UK everyone complains about muslim immigrates try walking down the street in Auckland. I’m not saying it’s bad it’s just very high here. I don’t support labour I’m simply pointing out an alternative system to school funding… Instead of funding based on role size that the UK currently does. NZ definitely underfunds schools as well but the inequality is not as obvious. Feel feee to come to NZ on holiday and explore for yourself. I’m not saying necessarily give more money I’m saying change the system because funding solely based on role size does not work. The top schools will keep getting richer and the poor schools poorer.

@@sophiehutton3143 my friends live in Kerikeri they say they pay for everything it's very expensive but the wages are far higher than the UK. The schooling system is government funded but that doesn't make it free if you work in the same way the NHS isn't free in the UK if you work. The difference is it's far harder to become a citizen in NZ compared to the UK this you attract a higher standard of immigrant that benefits your economy where as the immigrants that are flooding into the UK have no economic benefit and are used solely to borrow dept that the tax payer gets saddled with. I am a lowly construction worker have no chance of sending my kids to private school but that doesn't mean that I don't see the massive benefit to society private schools have . I also don't believe in this bs called equity equality diversity nonsense? For me it's all about timing and by that I mean maybe my kids won't go to private school but maybe their kids will I am not jealous of other people sending their kids it's their moment just like it could be my grandkids moment in years to come understand?

The way you conducted this interview was some what dissapointing for me to be honest. To me it appeared that you were trying to psychoanalyse Boris and push his childhood into something he was saying it wasn't. I felt that you were constantly interupting him and not letting him speak and explain his thought process fully before digging deeper. I understand that you may not have wanted him to dodge the question but it at times felt that because you didn't get the answer you wanted to hear, you poked and argued your point more to try to get him to agree or admit to something and wasnt actually listening to what he was saying. I found your style to be similar to Kay Burley and quite on the offensive as if you had to hold him responsible for things, instead of hearing him. Maybe it was because of time constraints that you had to rush the questions more, I don't know. As a long format interview, I would have liked for you to have let him speak more and then expanded on his thoughts and processes. Like stated, he had to deal with three big issues as a Prime Minister, to which most PM's won't likely have to see one of those. I'd have been interested in hearing the inner workings of the Governement during these times and what was going through his head and conversations he was having. I do like the podcasts though, Steven. I just wanted to share some feedback for what i feel like a missed oppotunity to get futher insight and stand out from what any other interviewer will most likely do. I understand journalists/interviewers have a part to play and politicians are adept to that. I felt your questions regarding his family (or the way the video was edited) was a tad aggressive and pushy, in a way which I have never seen you interview before. Boris handled it with maturity and humility. The way in which you interviewed Boris was disappointing and not your finest interview. The pressures on public servants during COVID-19 was unprecedented. The process of government is not often understood by the general public. The expectation that a plan would have been developed (options) regarding Brexit is a normal expectation. The failure to prepare was a failure of the previous government and public servants remaining apolitical - that's the life working for a democratic government.
