Barclays is a disgrace, they keep loosing the paperwork for our Church account, demanding a new set, then asking for mire signatures then ask you to go to a branch miles away as they have shut all the local branches. This has been going on for seven months.

I am a charity trustee and can recommend the Co-op as a very good bank. We had been with our previous bank for over 40 years (not Barclays) but they were very hard work to deal with. Passed on to one person after another for simple queries, everything took ages to do. I’m sure their systems weren’t deliberately set up to frustrate customers - it just felt like that. When we changed the structure of the charity three years ago we took the opportunity to change banks to the Co-op. They have a special community account for registered charities, called Community DirectPlus with virtually no bank charges. Been very happy with them. Original bank didn’t even ask us why we were closing our account.

Disgusting.. I visited the war museum in 2022. It's a great place with lovely staff. They don't deserve to be treated by the bank the way they have. I hope this gets sorted ASAP. They should not be out of pocket as it's such a good cause. Come on Barclays get your act together.

in the good old days of banking, such an account would have been handled by a manager with years of experience who would have understood the issues and cleared it up in no time. Now the main clearing banks employ clueless numpties straight out of 'uniiiiiiiiiiiiiii', who you wouldn't trust to run a bath let alone handle someone run a banking department.

I used to have a bank manager like that on first name terms known each other for years, if I had an issue that needed to be fixed it was a quick chat and anything could be sorted within minutes but that was 10 years ago, Isn't it great how society has "progressed".

As a former RAF Officer I am disgusted that any British bank could be so inflexible in their attitude and processes, everyone knows how strict the Charity Commission are and they are rightly so, but yet they managed to work with the Group Captain and team to minimise the impact of change of its charity classification. Our fallen colleagues have given so much sacrifice to this country and this is the thanks a former bastion of British Banking gives in return. Which innocent charity will be targeted next?

My father served in the RAF from 1942 - 47. He died in 2010 having been a Barclays Bank customer his whole life and I can't imagine how he would have reacted to this news. I will certainly never bank with Barclays.

Barclays are doing this to a lot of accounts. It has nothing to do with money laundering at all. If they can't get rid of you they make the whole banking process very difficult. They don't seem to want small accounts any more and seem to be moving to large and corporate accounts
