I was skeptical at first but the 10 inch speaker really suprised me and for portability - weight reasons im totally happy with the 10 inch speaker combo ! After years with different amps - Marshall got me back !

Media Management that’s right. This is where sales, product development and engineering have the biggest internal clashes: no newness for the large shows.

Bold New Finishes, I wonder if that changes the tone? Guess Not. Then no reason to buy. A guy on C.L has been trying to sell a JCM 900 4500 for almost a year, it's signed by Ted Nugent. no body cares and it doesn't make it sound any better

Here in Canada the 3 new finishes cost 400 more. 2600 vs 3000(head +212). Tolex and nameplate isn't that expensive. For the same price I can buy a vintage JCM800, a 412 cab with more expensive speakers and have money in my pocket.

Marshall seem to have an unhealthy obsession with putting 10" speakers in amps that would sound loads better with a 12".

They admitted when they released Origin a few years back that they put 10s in the combos to "encourage" people to buy the head and cab instead. It's a pretty fucked up marketing strategy and the reason I haven't tried one of these yet.

They sound great with 10 inch speakers in there. I wouldn't gig them but as a practice amp it's lighter, smaller and can be overdriven much easier.

@@frmcf Completely. I had a Friedman Dirty Shirley Mini combo with a 10" and it absolutely slayed distortion tones.

I love Marshall, they're my favourite flavour of amplifier. I think, personally, that they've lost their way. When I think of the original heritage electric guitar brands I think Fender, Gibson, Marshall.... But I'm not sure how Marshall are going to become a force again. My favourite Marshall amp is the JTM45. They need an injection of innovation. But not bullshit wireless headphones/fridge innovation

It has to be their corporate culture. Stodgy, not forward thinking in relating their product to what the customer needs. I went last year to NAMM and I spoke on this same issue. The employees, at the Marshall booth from England, response was they (upper management) only relate on to know to need basis. Very secretive and don't share the vision of the company. It's so sad. Such rich history they have and it's lost 'cause of their myopic or perhaps their antiquated business view.

@ Once Jim died they lost their way. Modeling amps are taking over. There is no new sound from amps. Too much competition. They were the original but that way 50 years ago. Time changes, No amp has come out with anything new. Just the modeling amps, but they model tube amp sound, so their sound is no different just easier to use when touring. It's hurting companies like Marshall. Young players don't want tube amps.

the combo with 20 w witha single 10 inch speaker it is a jucke you shoud at least put 2x10 to move enough air live or at least a single 12 but 10 inches it is insufficent..
