I am a Canadian who is on his way to Wrexham this morning as part of a father-son footballing pilgrimage. Last night we saw Manchester United beat Liverpool at Old Trafford, tonight we are sitting with the Burnley fans as they play in Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup. I must say, I had never heard of Wrexham before these two got involved with the club. Any money we take to that community over the next few days is part of the spin-off from their investment. As celebrities go, they seem like pretty good guys. I look forward to our visit.
I have been a supporter for more than 50 years, I can't stop talking about Wrexham and where we are going, even if people don't want to listen to me.Thank you to Ryan and Rob for giving us hope, and maybe I don't have to dream anymore.
Californian here, whos been a Gooner for 2 decades. As a fan of football and these two, I can honestly say that I have become a fan and consider myself a Dragon!!
Get ready for some cups. I’d bet money they’ll be Championship league regulars within a decade. Take care of your health, you’re goin’ to have some fun watching this. I was a long suffering Boston Red Sox fan, I wish your team many years of winning seasons and I hope they reclaim their historic place in Football.
Paul, the show is currently the third most popular show streaming today. In the world, that is. It's giving Lord of the Rings a good run for it's money. You're not going to have a hard time finding people who want to listen to you talk about Wrexham for very long my friend ;) Good luck in the season! And thank any Gods you believe in that you didn't get the Glazers!
Just think the next time I meet an American or Canadian and say I am from Wrexham they will know where it is .... amazing!!! Thank you Rob & Ryan for all you have done for Wrexham!
It says something that it takes two well-known actors from across the pond to do more for Wrexham, club and town, than any of the so-called local dignitaries have ever done. These guys don't need this publicity, they are doing it because they want to. Contrast them with previous club owners way back who were only ever in it for what they could get for themselves. So glad Rob got to see the lads win so convincingly
They give you goosebumps when they talk about Wrexham because you know full well how much it all means to them. It’s comical to read from the outside football world that they’ll “get bored in a couple of years”. Undoubtedly the best and most genuine chairmen in football. What a time to be a fan.
After they took charge at Wrexham, I started a football manager save with them. I absolutely have a soft spot for Wrexham now, it so genuine how much they care, was a huge fan of Rob and this has made me appreciate him even more! My club has tragic owners haha
What wrexham needs now to promote the club is for the fans to make Declan Swans the official anthem of the team....it could become the equivalent of LFCs You'll never walk alone....an anthem for the next generation to sing on the terraces.
Less than a mile from the centre of town A famous old stadium crumbling down No ones invested as much as a penny Here comes the deadpool.....and Rob McElhenney.....
I love this interview. I went to the match on Saturday with a friend from Finland who loves British footie. I wasn't a footie fan at all but I feel I am now. I've lived in Wrexham nearly twenty years and this whole story has really caught my imagination and the love and dedication to the club is palpable. These two are awesome and Wrexham is awesome!! Putting Wrexham on the world map❤️❤️
I just finished watching this series yesterday and have become completely obsessed. I have always had a man crush on Ryan and this series made me laugh, cry, scream, and cheer. I also went to visit england with my family in August and fell in love with the country. I also love soccer but never really had a team to follow and root for. Now I do. Well.done mates
As a Gooner of almost 50 years who went to Wrexham once (to a pub, not the footy), I love this story and I wish every Wrexham fan all the best. I look forward to meeting you in the Champions League final!
Incredible!!! Man Utd fan but I absolutely love this story behind these guys and Wrexham football club, definitely my 2nd team, following the story, I’m a Wrexham supporter, shirt been ordered!! Hope the fans get the success they deserve and I’m sure they will.
I’m a Geordie watching NUFC go through a similar transformation, I can totally imagine how happy Wrexham fans must be right now. Just watched your highlights against Maidstone - amazing!! Best of luck in your promotion dreams, hope we get to play you some day!
Nothing like what’s going on at Wrexham. Newcastle have corrupt evil oil rich owners from a horrible nation that just pump money into the team which is all you care about. Those owners could behead somebody and you wouldn’t care. Weird thing to say
I love football usually follow liga MX Go Chivas and American football Go Raiders, But I have found myself following Wexham not just because of rob and ryan but the fanbase. you have to root for a team that their fans would go to such an extent as to buy the club from an owner that was trying to dismantle the club for capital gain. That's magic gives me goosebumps just thinking about it, you guys have all earned the recent success through your dedication and love for the team.
I’m here from Nigeria 🇳🇬 where we love football, I love everything about this story I’m so invested now 😍😍😍 my love for Ryan brought me here but my love for football is what’s keeping me, the series is one of my favorites
And 8 moths later Wrexham ascended so grate job just after two years to turn this club around. This is the first step in a new playground harder and more competitive but I hope you can keep going for the ultimate dream to take this club to the premier league
Thank you for saving 2021/2022 for me. My dog and dad died this year, my parents condo burned down last year after their car was t-boned. This is so wonderful to see people happy for once.
I really hope this honeymoon period lasts for them, they are so enthusiastic and deserve a good ride, but football fans are a fickle lot. It's going to be difficult but the overiding objective is to get back into the Football League, and that will not be easy.Best of luck boys.
Wrexham afc fans are not fickle. Eleven years ago the fans raised £100,000 in SEVEN hours to save our club from extinction. That's love and dedication.
@@nicolecross1430 I don't think he was referring to your passion for the club. We ARE a fickle lot though when it comes to managers, players and owners. If our team is shit for long enough the supporters will turn on the manager, certain players or the ownership. I think the obvious passion these two have for the club will buy them time. However, if God forbid, the club fails to even make the playoffs for the next three years in a row the supporters will start to possibly grumble.
@@brianeleighton I agree with you Brian. I wasn't offended or anything, it just still amazes me how dedicated Wrexham fans are(and I'm originally from Northwich and I won't mention their team 😀) Ryan and Rob have really immersed themselves into the community, not just the club at a time when the town(I'll never view it as a city) really needed a boost. Their enthusiasm is infectious.
As a football fan from the US, LA specifically, a long time Liverpool supporter and fan of football all around, this story of Rob and Ryan has really captured me in regards to their ownership in Wrexham. Experience with US owners hasn’t been very welcome, you can see that with Man United and the Glaziers….and at times even with my club and FSG’s tight fisted approached to player acquisitions. I do think LFC fans do better with FSG than United fans do with Glaziers. These guys seem legit in their approach and watching the docudrama and the RU-vid videos about what they plan to do and what their goals are is fun to watch. How would one get to see game feeds from Wrexham? Anyone know?
I'm a Liverpool fan,so obviously tend to stick to the premiership for the most part... I watched the mini series 'welcome to Wrexham ' and really enjoyed it!. I'm not gonna lie,I mainly watched it because of Ryan Reynolds, but I understand the passion of the supporters and the long History of the club. I hope Wrexham do really well this season, I'm sure Mullin will top 30 goals. Will definitely be keeping an eye on Wrexham, and hoping they finally manage to go up this season!.
I love this! So true so honest. It's awesome to see Wrexham brought out to the world, if anything, I'd love to see is them helping out the entire league too. 😁
Total impartial neutral here but this is such a heart warming story and hoping these two, the team and the fans can climb up the tables and we will see you in the premiere league in 2026.
You can tell they adore it, why???? Because when they started all this the sponsor was a little teeny company that makes horse and moving trailers. Now they didn’t swoop in and just throw that sponsor away which many would assume they would do, they kept that tiny company on, and use them and the company is listed as still a sponsor. To me that shows the real care and love for that town. I’ve watched the series, and when I saw the list of sponsors and that trailer company is still there shows so much they didn’t just dump them. To me it may seem such a small thing, but it actually shows something huge it shows heart. I’m an die hard Arsenal fan in my blood, but because of the history like arsenal has Wrexham is my welsh team. GO WREXHAM.
We in Swansea must have the wrong Americans to own my football club aka Swansea obviously it's my home town we need new owners hahaha fair play to Wrexham I am actually jealous the fact you have owners now that actually love to be Wrexham owners so fair play and congratulations
Funny this interview am a Bolton wanderers fan I loved Phil Parkinson when he was at are club. Now after watching this and the doc I have found myself checking results to see how he and Wrexham are doing and yeah I think Wrexham is my Welsh team in the uk
Sub added. I am the evil evil yank who started watching EPL in 1992(recording matches on 2 different vcr's that got satalite); I choose man united my best friend chose Liverpool. Been wanting to find a smaller club to follow. My mother is from wales; so maybe the promotion has worked. Cheers... When a home kit shirt is in stock I'd love to get one. Good luck Ryan and Rob and GREAT luck Wrexham from California.
you both are loved ...... do you realise how much you are both loved by a a fucking country,,, let that sink in we are a passionate country an you both have stole our hearts
Im a chelsea fan but you can’t help also following wrexham. I made the Hollywood sign !! And just a weekend in wrexham the people were great. Good luck let’s hope you get out of the vanaram league
So what, he isn't welsh, is well loved all over the globe, so doesn't really need anything from us. You cannot sit there and judge anyones emotions. You don't know him.
What I got from it all is that he is fairly overwhelmed from it. Ryan has a pretty dry sense of humor as well. Rob is clearly more passionate about it, mostly because he was the one motivated to do it. The purchase of a club was his idea, he then talked Ryan into becoming a partner with him. Owning a non League or League 2 team with aspirations for promotion isn't a prudent financial investment. The amounts you have to pay to build out the infrastructure is enormous. I see it as that Ryan's Dad, as he says, gave him validation through sports. So Ryan continued playing sports even though he didn't really want to in order to get that validation. I think for him, owning a football club is a way to honor his Dad's memory.
Hey Rob and Ryan, I'd really like to go to the pub and have a couple of pints with you, just leave your number and I'll make it happen (I'll pull a sickie if it's a week day👍🏼)
No offence but you can tell they’re not real football people and they’re putting too much pressure on the players by doing all these interviews expecting a win every game. Reality will hit when they get to a higher division and just how hard it is to gain promotions
The cynic in me says this will fail miserably. But they seem like genuine dudes who love sports and quite possibly the dumb luck that promoted them into Hollywood stardom will carry on and promote Wrexham as well.
Yeah man, good on you!! Very pleased to see something interesting going on in Wales.. I love these guys and can't wait to see how you peeps in Wrexham get on with our new boyo friends backing you
I'm looking forwards to the day when being an old school Wrexham supporter means constantly whining about all the plastic out of town fans, when you're in the Prem ;)
It's kind of odd that two guys known for being some of the silliest people in their craft, are the two most sincere North American owners of a European Football club. Their love for everything Wrexham is palpable. The club, the town, the people... these guys are gems. If only the glazers had a small smidgen of the class these two have. 👏 👏 👏
Their actors. Doing a good job they care. Them caring will help turn their 2 million into 1 billion. It could of been any town club really. Lucky Wrexham I guess x
@@SD-nq6kg 1. They’re. 2 of course they want a return on their investment but I feel like that is not the overriding reason they bought the football club. Their passion is real for the club
@@SD-nq6kg No shit man, it’s an investment… but it’s one they truly care about and means a lot to them. Would you rather them invest their time and energy into some shitty company? They are literally saving a city mr krabby pants.
@@SD-nq6kg No, it couldn't have. They had the option to buy any club they wanted. They CHOSE Wrexham. Yes, they are actors but they are also people. Rob was the one who talked Ryan into joining him. Rob chose Wrexham because even though he is now rich and famous, he wasn't born that way. He grew up in South Philadelphia. To let you know what that means is that section of Philadelphia is the poorer, working class section of the city. He chose Wrexham because it is a poorer working class city that is devoted to their football club. Just like the city he grew up in, so the people of Wrexham are familiar to him. If it was just about money, they would've bought a League 2 team. They wouldn't buy a team in the hardest league to gain promotion in the pyramid.
@@marknicholls4133 👍 we are just finalising the details but will give you a heads up on which game we will be at!! People like yourself will be welcoming ❤️🇨🇦
Here's hoping Ryan and Rob and their families will be there too!! Congrats guys you've given Wrexham something to continue being proud of! ❤🏴 ❤🇨🇦🇺🇸🥳
Well Done, you. I’m here in Ontario, being very jealous. Lucky you. Enjoy. Of course Ryan is a Canadian treasure and Rob is a doll. So happy for them and Wrexham.
I come from a town 50 miles out of Wrexham called dolgellau, and have always followed wrexham from kid because it was a north wales club But if you think of it every second child from my area was born in Wrexham hospital as it was the main hospital,o reall6 like the way there heart ❤️ is in it
From the US, have played my whole life but never had an English team that I rooted for. Was just USMNT every 4 years. I love having a team I can stand behind and look forward to listening every Saturday morning with the kids while we make breakfast!
@@kennethjames9416 For sure. I guess I meant, other friends had premiere league teams that they cheered for and despite it being the best football in the world, I didn't follow any team from across the pond. Until now 😁. Up the town!
As a Bolton fan you've got an absolutely brilliant manager in Parky. He's a class act. He'll always give 110% and he knows the game well. He managed Bolton through some of our darkest years and managed to bring us promotion while having no money to spend. Also kept us in the championship that following year which was a miracle. As well as that he kept working while not getting paid for MONTHS which says a lot. BWFC legend.
After watching the documentary came straight here these guys are genuinely into the clubs interest. Like Ryan said getting Wrexham out in Canada US different parts of the world I watched this from California and I’m getting more and more interested into the club wish them the best good luck lads
I still have to pinch myself that this is a real thing... An hour ago i was listening to the sunny podcast... As a sunny fan... Then to realise (again) that Rob is our owner is mind-blowing. Dont think its ever something I'll get used to
Rob and Ryan, thanks for bringing Wrexham football to my life. I think it's awesome what you have done. Made a new fan over here in Australia! Wish I could buy a home red shirt though! Sold out! 😭
