We got Bryan Danielson before his big match against Kenny Omega at Arthur Ashe Stadium for AEW Dynamite Grandslam. We talk to him about his debut, his match and how he left WWE. On top of that, we talk about his future with AEW.
The fact that Omega & Bryan didn't touch for a minute & 37 seconds while the crowd we're losing their shit reminded me so much of Rock vs Hogan at WrestleMania 18. I love the wrestling knowledge that was provided during this interview, you can see how much Bryan loves professional wrestling.
That match was just pure artistry. Think that may have been the first time in 30+ years as a fan, that I could of sat and watched for the entire duration of the show. And I mean sat riveted. Danielson has always been fantastic but man, when Kenny turns it on and is serious, he is incomparable.
It'd be a very different match. KENTA wasn't in the best shape going to WWE, let alone after getting injured by jabrones in NXT. However, I think that he has a handle on what he can and can't do now so it would be good.
AEW’s relationships and possible matches w these other promotions jus shows the TRUE way to do it. Japanese style v AEW or Lucha Libre v AEW style is something nice as fuck to watch. We are so used to WWE that this is what it truly should’ve been.
This and the CM Punk interview are the first interviews I'm seeing on this channel. Really great interviews when they're almost over 30 minutes a piece and still feel like it wasn't enough. Consider me a new subscriber and more word of mouth
Bryan Danielson whenever he retires if if he does he needs to start a Podcast and everybody would love to listen to him forever his passion in his voice makes me love wrestling so much.
At 21:00, "He's here to see if he can still be the best in the world, no I am the opposite, I know I am the best...". Now, if that clip doesn't make it to a storyline between these two down the line, I don't know what else could.🤞🤞🤞.
Bryan Danielson has been killing these interviews. Great move for AEW to put him and people like Punk in these positions to talk on behalf of the company since they are so well spoken. 💯
What this interview taught me is that CM Punk will turn into the top heel in the company within 6 months. The gimmick of happy to be here and help young guys will last only so long. Which is why it's awesome Dragon decided to focus on violence instead.
It's something that doesn't work with just anyone, you need the right time and the right people. The way they did it was brilliant because first of all everyone was expecting Danielson so they took that expectation away for a while and then made if a surprise again. And the other aspect, while it was common knowledge Cole was gone from WWE, I don't think he was expected to appear so quickly.
Quite frankly, aside that it was really sucessful, the "Daniel bryan: The ultimate underdog" gimmick was soooo bullshit. Only in WWE could he be labeled as an underdog.
@@juselara02 he was a underdog in real with WWE though. Not tall, not a bodybuilder physique, not a flashy look in attire or hair, and he had to overcome the stigma of being an Indy wrestler. The E at the time really was biased against Indy wrestling, along with the other obstacles I mentioned. As a worker, he shouldn’t have been an underdog. But in real life, he had everything going against him. And he still got to the top. Just goes to show what a dynamo he is.
Oh my, The Zack Sabre JR match in the UK... that would be a damn scrap! Keep it on the mat. Heavy nasty joint manipulation. Like some of the classic matches Danielson had with Low Ki in RoH. It's amazing to hear Bryan Danielson verbalise exactly what I've been feeling about AEW for a long time. What I agree with most is I absolutely trust AEW to take me on the journey and it's a given that I will be satisfied and entertained, which is why I am fully subscribed.
@SP For me, Omega hasn't just had the best matches of all time but he's the best story teller the business has ever seen. His entire career has been long term storytelling.
What a down to earth interview and barely had to promote anything, only by exposing the love for this sport/ profession did they explain you won't be disappointed.
Not really. I was a fan when I was younger too but it quickly became WWE-lite. AEW is and feels like an entirely different product; even with guys like Bryan on the roster.
@@drejones1636 TNA was way better than the WWE. And created new Stars like A.J. Styles, Somoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, the Motor City Machineguns, James Storm and Bobby Roode, Abyss.. And the X Division and 6 sided ring Rocked!!.. wasn't until Hogan and Biscoff came along talking about making it a real wrestling ring, etc.. that shit went on the downward spiral... But even up til the end of their TV deal with Spike TV, they were still more entertaining than the WWE, and gave guys an alternative wrestling promotion to work for.. Kurt Angle, Christian, Mr Anderson, Bully Ray, etc.. I loved TNA!!! Can't say what it became after they went off the air.. I'm surprised they even lasted. But for the void that was left after WCW.. TNA was the best alternative we got!!..
@@pimpdaddysatan I agree with you homie. Nonetheless, every mid carder that came from WWE to TNA instantly got a title shot & was put over guys like AJ, Joe, Daniels, etc. AEW takes care of their homegrown talent & has a win-loss system.
Bryan and Omega delivered on all levels great decision to do a draw we get another match down the line for the strap now also Bryan vs Zack in England would be insane
One of the biggest "what ifs" in wrestling history is "what if daniel bryan never got injured in 2014?" We anticipated him to drop the title to Brock since brock just broke the streak. Also, it might help to not speed up the push of reigns and rollins, which is great since their early overpush was one of the reasons for WWE's decline, besides Bryan's retirement.
In my opinion it wouldn't make sense for a guy who came in from another company, or anywhere for that matter doesn't matter where, tell your current champion that he isn't on his level and then have him prove it in a match. I have to think Kenny will win this match for sure but that's just my thought process.
Yea if you forget who the two are and what they’ve done. It would make sense if a future hall of famer came in and said that makes sense. I wish haters would watch this stuff. The E-drones need to understand that AEW isn't just a fad or a new gimmick or WWE-lite. WWE WISHES they could be like AEW, not the other way around.

Yes. When he should be selling and telling a story, you can see him just focusing on his next spot. For all his ability, that makes him still APPEAR so green.
