Exclusive interview with Iñaki Williams after switching nationality to play for Black Stars 

You see, he hadn't visited Ghana since he was 3 years old. So obviously he didn't feel fully Ghanaian when first he granted interview about playing for Ghana. Since he's come home and seen and interacted with his people, he has felt the connection of being a full blooded Ghanaian. That's when he genuinely feels like he has to play for his original homeland, his natural people. Our journalists must understand and appreciate this sociology of things and stop stoking unnecessary fire and animosity. I travelled just the other way around - my ancestry is from Eibar (near Bilbao) and I was born in South America. I also came back to live in Spain and, like Iñaki's dad, I came to London where I live now. I don't like the questions regarding how much of a Ghanaian he feels and the mention of him saying in the past that he did not feel Ghanaian. Of course he is right to say so. His whole life has been based in Spain. I find it unwelcoming to be questioning how Ghanaian he feels. We should be grateful he has chosen Ghana regardless of how he came to that decision. Period.
