I have so much animosity towards Warren. My brother is still one of his followers. I haven’t seen him since our dad’s funeral 14 years ago. We only recently about 2 years ago began texting back and forth. So many of my mom’s family get tangled up in warrens web of deception. Cousins of mine had to stand like 50 yards away at their parents funerals because they were outcasts. There’s a truly special place in Hell for Warren Jeffs. I’m not sure if I can finish watching this video. Just brings up so many feelings.
@@GrowingUpinPolygamy Thank you. Sam looks very familiar. I think I know his last name but don’t want to expose his family. I truly hope the same for yours as well.
Yeah, shunning doesn't create peace, and love which is what God wants. It's punishment and judgment. Only God will judge, forgive, or punish. For any religion to turn their backs on people from breaking away to lead their own life is wrong.
So why would a guy who is in prison for raping children continue to think he is the mouthpiece for Jesus Christ- absolute insanity. Thank you so much for helping people understand this all. I’ve been pretty angry when I found out about FLDS… I actually went to a festival in Hildale and didn’t know anything about the history a few weeks ago. I was shocked to discover what had all transpired there. I was like what’s up with all of the boarded up houses? Oh my goodness. Then I went down this rabbit hole. You have helped to make sense of what appeared to be such an insane situation to me. Thank you for all your good works and your kind words and thoughts. I truly hope people can find their way out with the help and education from fine folks such as yourselves. Knowledge is Power. ❤ Interestingly enough, I was a battered woman, and was stalked and hunted for over a decade. My abuser also used scripture and versus from the Bible to try to control me and keep me in line. I had to fight for a very long time to get away, but I did. PLEASE, DON’T EVER, EVER GIVE UP - GET OUT!!! GET FREE!!! 💜
@@regenerated4life I’m sorry but this is 100% untrue about Jesus. Although, I as an LDS, fully believe all forms of abuse, coercion, religious violence or extremism of any kind and any other evil actions must be called out, and the perpetrators condemned, I have to make it absolutely, unequivocally, clear, and no one certain terms to you and anyone else who reads this that **Latter-day Saints (“Mormons”) do not believe in any “Mormon Jesus” or in any Jesus Christ other than the one I, and any Christian on earth, know to be our Redeemer and as the Son of God, He is part of the Godhead with His Father and the Holy Ghost. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ (the same Jesus Christ, that nearly any Christian creed who has read the Bible or knows the fundamental fact that the atonement made salvation, repentance, and the gift of forgiveness from sin possible) We do not believe Jesus Christ is someone different then the Jesus Christ of the Bible (as well as the standard works, including the book of Mormon, which does not conflict with the Bible, but strengthens our convictions on the biblical Jesus Christ) We “take upon the name of Jesus Christ” when we say the sacrament prayer to honour our baptismal covenants. And, you probably guessed it - **Our Church is literally his church, the church of Jesus Christ (of latter-day Saints)*. So I just wanted to clarify that at least this latter-day Saint, and those I know, as well as those from the Righteous Branch - all have virtually the same belief in this respect. I have never heard “Mormon Jesus” or have I been taught or heard anything that would make me once have any doubt or confusion over which “Jesus“ we try to focus our lives around. (I fully believe in free agency and freedom of religion, and if people want to believe the often wild and profoundly untrue or extremely embellished, or uncontextualizd and often non-doctrinal claims about latter-day Saints, the book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, etc. They can believe what they would like.) However, I have a duty to not only call out something that is patently false about my faith when I see it made, but to speak truth, when someone leaves a claim about what **I, my family, friends, and all of the great people I know** *allegedly* believe in as Latter-day Saints. (everyone is free to believe in what they want, and make criticisms, and believe what they want to believe or not. But anyone with a modicum of respect would ask an LDS/Mormon, what they believe or a missionary, rather than make such accusations about over 19 million people in the main line church alone. :-) ) Have a wonderful day
I love watching this channel! I was never flds but was amish for 33 years before my husband and i left. Theres differences for sure but so many simularities...💔❤️🩹
'murder peoples' reminds me of the Monty Python song 'Every Sperm is sacred' song. Very funny song if you need some light relief ❤ Sending love to the families still caught up in this xx
I wish there was a way that the jail could completely stop his communication with the outside world. Just using his voice can be a weapon. You can see how this affects you both, but you can tell it's so heavy for Sam. I would imagine Mexico would be a place they would go. A few years ago an US family who lived in Mexico were crossing the border into US were killed by the cartel. I remember the news saying that the family lived in Mexico because they were polygamists.
Polygamist Mormons have done that for a long time. Mitt Romney’s father George was born to American parents in a polygamist colony in Mexico. They returned to the US because of the Mexican Revolution.
There's an online catalog of Mormon Fundamentalist documents going back to the very early days of fundamentalism. I have autism, and one of my fixations is LDS fundamentalism, purely for academic purposes - although I'm Muslim. It would be interesting to see your channel review one of the less pernicious documents from very early on and how it compares to how the FLDS teaches theology as Sam was taught it.
@GrowingUpinPolygamy if you just google Mormon Fundamentalist Documents, it pops up; there is a document by Joseph Musser who composed as close to a thing as a Catechism as I've ever seen specific to fundamentalism.
@Cate7451 I understand, I was trying to iterate that documents written by earlier leaders than Jeffs are substantially less dangerous. If I used this word incorrectly I apologize, English is my 5th language.
W. Jeff's voice, his cadence, tone is CREEPY. Ever has anyone heard the Dugger's Mom's voice? Jim Bob's voice? Each of their voices has a creepy fluid common sound. Makes my stomach nearly lose my stomach. So sad to watch from afar and be unable to wake up the sheep inside FLDS. Peace. PTL! ❤
Oh wow, I live in Missouri but not near Jackson County. I’m a little north of Springfield and there is a community of polygamists north of here 30-45 miles. Humansville, MO.
Unfortunately he still has a lot of power. Thanks Sam and Melissa for the information. Still excited with I see the the two of you have uploaded a video. ❤
It's interesting how these groups claim they believe the Bible too yet ignore that scripture says not even the son knows the day he will return. Only the Father. Yet they think the Father would tell Warren Jeffs yet somehow Jesus doesn't know?
I grew up RLDS which is now Community of Christ. My family history goes all the way back to Kirtland. My family did not follow Brigham. It is so fascinating to me to see the difference in all the different lds sects. For example the one I grew up in is okay with accepting and even marrying gay couples
It always surprises me when cults claim specific end dates, it doesn't happen but it doubles down on their faith. Jehovah's witnesses have done it as well, but then the groups are pretty similar. I can understand not wanting to believe the person you're told is god's voice on earth would do something so hideous, its telling the first thing I ever saw about him was his daughter Rachel saying she knew it was true, after all he had done it to her first
Thank you and we should probably say for clarity Warren's daughter Rachel Jeffs who so bravely left and wrote her book is obviously not Warren's sister also called Rachel Jeffs.
@@ellemarr7234Even they won't go that far apparently, at least marrying them. I know Amanda said she had heard of one man asking permission to go forward on his own daughter, apparently somehow that's where Paul draws the line. Bearing in mind Paul is married to multiple nieces and half-sisters
It is interesting that everyone who has predicted the end of the world has been wrong. I always think it is such arrogance to assume and think that you will be alive for the second coming… people 100 years ago thought the same things and the end of the world didn’t come
So sad. I am a foster/adopt mother that was fostering children from the Black Iserolites. Sp? But wow they have been brain washed and have different names given by the church. This is not a good cult at either. Very scary to say the least.
At what point does each adult take responsibility for the harm they are doing? Either to each other and/or to children? Victimhood is only useful until these people continue to harm others.
The language grammar structure in the "revelations" is very unique. They're not really complete sentences, more like random things being mentioned together that form a bigger picture. It reminds me of the type of language two people who were stuck together but couldn't understand each other might come up with. It also doesn't seem to match speech patterns of people who have left the community, so it seems a deliberate choice to make it seem as if it was coming from God.
Under age marraige is not just found in fundamental Mormon history. It goes all the way back to Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and Lorenzo Snow both had many underage wifes. Don't have a blind spot on this issue of where it started. It started way back with Fanny Algier.
This should be against his court order bc he's still having communication with children he's hurt. They ask ppl if they believe ppl can get in your mind and make you so things he had to say yes so this should be against his mental health and violation of something.... I'm just not seeing how he is getting away with still doing this mess. They had Charles Manson confined and wouldn't have let him get away with this crap Warren Jeffs is qay way worse than CM ...
Around 2014, my husband was in a leadership position (branch president) in the LDS church and we started receiving these revelations in the mail. They were addressed to my husband as the Branch President. I actually tried to read the letter, but the wording was so bizarre , you couldn’t make any sense of it all. Except for the offer to buy a book for $25. I was very creeped out that our address was known by whoever did the mailings and never figured out how or why these were being sent to us. They finally stopped when Warrens brother was arrested. Anyone else have this happen or know why or how?
So what would happen if some random stranger with bad intention came through town and snatched up a child? They don't think anything is wrong about that or question it?
He's way worse than Charles Manson was and they didn't wouldn't let him get away with anything like this but for 20 years Jeffs is still having communication with children he rapped and brainwashed. It's sick
I apologize if this comes off poorly, I just fail to see how any rational thinking person can be so swayed by someone like him. (Adults obviously) Especially when their children are involved. Or family. I guess generational trauma? But still, that so many choose to ignore and continue to follow and condone this charlatan of a man (and others like him) is so deeply disturbing to me. I’m glad that you have been able to break free and live a happy and healthy life for your children. And I am glad that you are bringing these things to light.
I don't know if this means anything but I live in El dorado springs Missouri about 100 miles from Jackson county Missouri. It may be a coincidence but you said you were looking for their new place. Eldorado has the same name as the Texas hideout, it's 100 miles from Jackson county in Missouri.
I feel like when his prophecies are proven incorrect there will be a convenient scapegoat in his sister/mother who just by nature of their gender will be easy to demonize as weak/unrighteous.
I recommend studying the concept of "plausibility structures" coined by sociologist Peter Berger. It explains why people believe in certain things and not in others.
Hi Melissa and Sam, thank you for another insightful video😊. Just a question, what was the original role of revelations in F/LDS? Is it supposed to be for delivering more rules from God for the followers to live by? And, are they sporadically given to the prophet and then to the people as he receives them, or does the prophet deliver revelations at specific times in the year? I come from a Christian/Catholic background so I just want to understand whether revelations were supposed to be similar to the priest/preacher interpreting scripture for the congregation every Sunday at church or is the function to deliver new doctrine to add to the existing books each time? Thanks again🌸
14:07 I had to listen to that twice. I didn't realize Warren is being held in one of the prisons where I live. There's 5 prisons in this area. BTW we pronounce it Pal-uh-STEEN, but most people that aren't from here don't know that. lol
This one is giving me “The Giver” vibes. I know it’s been said again and again that the book isn’t based on any sort of religion, but it seems to be playing out in real life…
For the murder people, when you have intercourse during a pregnancy, there is no chance of pregnancy, so you are ending that little sperm/spirit childs chance at life? That would be my guess
No, he, he, he be in Palistine (Tx): Pow-ledge Unit. What happens when polygamist men get with the girls? They have a pow-wow. The men go pow, and the girls go WOW.
It seem simply being human and of sin (which we all are)….would make all of us as murderous people …..or is the prophet and his claiming to be free of ALL sin…..which is this not sinful in prideful……no one is free of sin……
Yuh, the leadership didn't learn inclusive charity. Charity covers a multitude of sins, and encourages righteous living. 1 Peter 4:8. “And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins". I think it would be good to give a more complete rendering, for those who don't have the Mormon scripture (the Bible): 7. The end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. 9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging. 10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
Like a writing prompt: If you asked a 4th grader to write what s/he thought a scripture might sound like, in a story, what they’d write would be better than this fantastical gibberish.
I thought this as well…using the chaos of world events to scare his followers. Are these “murderous people” those who live in parts of the world devastated by war?
So these resurrected celestial beings will still eat in the hotshot kingdom? ... If yes, that begs the question "will they poop?" I hope someone has thought up a celestial holy sewage treatment plant! Eternity's a LONG time ... Without one, things would pile up BIG TIME sooner or later ... and over & over, AD ABSVRDVM. .... ???
I wonder if another reason for the lack of understanding the holes in these revelations could also be lack of education? I have heard that many (especially women) don't receive education past a certain age because they don't "need it for a life in serving god". How many followers actually understand what 1mil actually is/means? How many followers know just how many people are currently living in this world? Any insights to this thought would be helpful, thank you 🤔
