That is a dirty tackle. He was close enough to grab his leg. He didn't have to go around his waist and made him drag him and forcing his body towards his leg. I have paid attention to that kind of move. Your foot will get buckle under. If you pay attention to the defense when he fold his leg up.

The Hip drop is a wrestling technique that I’ve seen my son use on an opponent before.. big difference with your opponent running versus a takedown on a stationary one. I watched that Bengal after he dropped Andrews and Lamar. Each time as he got up from them his knee was so subtlety on them. Based on his body language, I personally feel he was seeking a primetime statement for himself. 🤷‍♀️ Winning is the best revenge, let’s Go boys 💪

It looked like he was trying to step on or rib kick Mark after that tackle for sure & then he raised his hands like "I did nothing wrong" when he realized the Ref. was nearby. I don't know if he had malicious intent or not. But Seahawks Bobby Wagner definitely had some dirty plays on LJ & our offense.

Bengals, when they win, we the best the world. Bengals, when they lose, it was they sun, the field was bad, players on the other team were tackling too hard, and we didn't have everyone healthy.

I have complete faith that the run D will improve. A couple years ago I’d worry it wouldn’t be but the difference is now we have the best middle linebacker in the game who’s also a leader. He won’t tolerate failure. Not since Ray have I seen a player like Roquan

Sad to say but in my football day I learned that you can put some one out of the game by tackling from the back and falling on the runner's leg. He did it twice and knew what he was doing.

The hip dropped tackle is banned in rugby for a reason period and honestly, rugby is a much more physical sport.

Idk about more physical. May look like it, because they don't wear pads. But pads allow players to fly full speed like a missle into players. You don't see that in rugby. Way more serious injuries in football. Just prob more blood in rugby. Almost like fighting.

I agree with Bart 100 percent about the hip drop tackle. It has to go just like the horse collar. The horse collar doesn't have an alternative, but this does. All you have to do is run through or drag your feet instead of dropping your hips.

You can drop your hips without resting the weight on the targets ankles. But I agree, wrapping up would be the most logical and effective method

@quijano1118 Players have always dropped their body weight into tackles, but they have been swinging into theses type of tackles more often than ever imo. Probably because of the restrictions that have already been made, but in my heart, I believe it is a dirty and unnecessary technique.

@@jeremiahw1369 I completely agree that it's unnecessary and it's a bigger risk to end careers than incidental contact to the helmet. But they need to figure out how to officiate that because it will pose a lot of issues with judgement calls

@quijano1118 I think if they just make it a 5-yard penalty, it will disappear almost instantly. It may stop a runner a yard or two shorter than other techniques, but it is definitely not worth 5 or the extra injury risks.

Sarah I understand wanting to dismiss the narrative about#55 being dirty, look at his actions in totality. After each (3) injurious tackles He stood over them to asses the damage. If quacks and waddles it's a duck. Appreciate You guys content.

I do not like to see anyone get hurt. People forget the year we had at least 15 guys injured, and the team still did what they could. Like the media Kept telling the ravens next man up. So in a way I feel the pain of losing your star player but next man up no excuses. Across the board for all teams. NEXT MAN UP. NO EXCUSES

The thing about the hip drop tackle is it can look like a hip drop tackle but it is in fact a wrestling and Bbj move that attacks the leg while dropping the weight and is not meant to be dropped on a running opponent. He swings on the runner body which will always make him land on the legs. But he went extra on the Lamar run and even locked his ankle like you would do in bjj to get a leg lock. Which means he was targeting players. That is what made the Odell tackle so bad because he went higher to land on Odell too put pressure on his shoulder.

28:49 I think the answer about the run game issues come from using the dts to eat blocks to create better pass rushing. But edge pass rush doesn’t do to well against inside runs and the dts get focused is on easy 4 yard pop maybe more

You have to go back to all the games, go back to the first meeting of the Bengals and Ravens and see how 55 was excessive after the play was over with OBJ was hurt down on the 3yrd line when he kinda suplexed #3 go ahead and look for yourselves! Wilson tackles not only to end the play but to make sure that player doesn't come back!

Ravens fans I have a question. We play a hunger talented Chargers team coming off of a loss in a much needed conference win for us. We’re chasing a first round by and home field advantage so we need all the wins we can get. With that being said…. Should we use this next couple weeks for an extended by for the key players that’s bang up or is this too much of a risk. Odell Beckham, Morgan Mosses, Ronnie Stanley, Marlon Humphrey.

No. It's pro football. If you're not I Jared too much to play, you play. They have a bye coming up for that. Chargers aren't a bad team. And they are going west. Which is hard enough to win. The des and the players know if they're ready. Playing isn't going to make injuries worse if they are cleared.

No. Every game counts. Remember the Ravens started the last two seasons with 8 wins. Year before last they misses the playoffs, last year they lost the division lead and barely got in. Every game matters, you have to give yourself the best chance to win every time.

I feel the same about that GARBAGE time touchdown. My fantasy team lost two points because of that touchdown. Now of Travis Kelce scores 23 points tonight, we will lose this week. Ravens D we have got to do better.

I think if they just make a hip drop tackles 5 yard penalties on top of the yards, it will go away fast. It may save a single yard versus a regular tackle.

It should be a personal foul subject to ejection like the targeting call. Think about it,we still see holding and off side penalties and they're 5 yd infractions and I don't believe that a measly 5 yd penalty will make the hip drop tackle go away in humble opinion.

@Jimmy-ik2kc Fair enough. I wouldn't start there, but if 5 extra yards aren't deterrent enough, then I do feel strongly enough that it could be worth escalating to the personal foul level. I really think that 5 yards would be enough to make a tackler run through or find another way. Back in my day we always tried to just wrap up and let others come and punch the ball out or finish the play. Not me personally, but generally. I was going for a suplex whenever possible. We were also allowed to just ear hole the literal crap out of poor kids just trying to have fun.

Dirty Tactics! Bart Scott hit the nail on the head. If I was in a fist fight and I resorted to kicking a dude in the manhood, punched him in the neck or did a Mike Tyson, take a bite out of crime, those are called… Dirty Tactics… Now if a person uses dirty tactics, resulting in the injury of multiple players, and unapologetically continues to use those tactics… Sir… YOU ARE A DIRTY PLAYER… And the proof is in the pudding when that scrub declined to comment after the game.

I think the hip drop tackle is a combination of bad technique. It takes a lot of effort to drop and turn your body like that. Seems more of a UFC/fighting move. If a player seems to do it a lot more often than most. He should take a step back and learn the fundamentals of tackling.

The Mighty Elves will win the AFCN. You guys injured our QB and we still kicked your a## on your home field. Lamar never beat Deshaun. Not in college and not in the NFL. Lamar will choke in the clutch like he always does. Hurting the opps’ QB will not change that.
