It is a law in the state of California that any child that is under the age of 18 years of age have their paychecks put into a trust. It's been like this for decades so they can protect the child actor. The state did this so that they can protect child actors. I know he is 13 years older than her, but there are plenty of couples who have an age gap like that and are great together. She's a bit young right now and has a boyfriend, but if that doesn't last I really think her and Derek should be a couple when she gets a bit older. I love Derek and I think he is interested in her, but has to keep that in check until she's a bit older and free. I do think there is something planted there and it may blossom in the future :)

Well its just a close friendship. Sure he developed some affection for her personality and idolized her dad. She marrying her long term bf soon and he is moved in with his long time gf. Though bindi getting married before derek it seems lol. But they are really from two different worlds she happy in her native australia with her wildlife and he loves the dance world tours. But it was great dance partnership for the show she really did not do much dance before till they put her in heels and she fell down but picked herself back up and with the eager to learn and dereks training she looked like a pro. Be nice if they did a dance show partnership again it truly was magical.

I think Derek and Bindi being a "couple" seems like a very slim chance. If you watch a recent interview of Derek's, there's a picture of him and Hayley. I think that was taken during Julianne's wedding. So.... there goes us fans' wishes of these two ever being a "couple".
