I am so happy for all you presented. The idea of immortalising The Great ZIK of Africa and the Owelle of Onitsha is very commendable. I dare suggest that the State Government working in concert with the State's Ministry of Tourism should train a Guide and educate him on every single item in the Centre. As one incharge of the Centre, he will be the Guide responsible for taking visitors/ tourists around. A Visitor's Book should equally be placed there . I very sincerely thank the initiators and request that something of this nature be equally done for Ahmadu Bello and Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Thanks

Well done for your visit and tour of ZIK HOUSE. What a historic place in ENUGU that should be looked after by Enugu State, otther Southern States in Nigeria and Nigeria Government for the Nation, Citzens and to attract tourists to raise money to maintain it. Leaders and nations who can not effectively lead, supervise and manager minors often fail to manage major things. Caution: Next time when you visit such venue again wear a glove. Wearing glove preserves the object and protects you against any infection. Unfortunately the venue has no tour guide to provide one.

Fantastic! Great content. My father used to take me whenever he visited Zik in his Nsukka home - Onuiyi Haven. His wife, Professor Azikiwe, still lives there. It is a beautiful compound and home that should be a tourist destination. Zik was a close friend of my grandfather who was awarded an honorary doctorate at the University of Nigeria UNN in 1964. They need a full staff. This is a massive part of Nigerian history. Kudos to Governor Ugwuanyi.

Great job girl. Your presentation is superb. Your accent is so clear and easy to understand. I was actually looking at the photos to see if Nwabunie Azikiwe, Zik's grandmother was there. Nwabunie was the sister of my great grandfather and the daughter of Mba Akalam of Umudei village Onitsha who married into Azikiwe family and gave birth to Zik's father Obed Azikiwe.

A bigger structure and centre should be constructed in the FCT to bear sections for historical artefacts on the three major nationalists: Zik, Bello and Awolowo. We need it for our locals and expatriates who may want to do tours and expeditions to garner more knowledge about our great statesmen, their works, lives and times. The Nigerian government is so careless and indifferent about this aspect of our national values and heritage. Let us erect a Centre for our National Icons and History in the FCT.

We all know Zik and Nkrumah got Africa independence and in Ghana they revere nkrumah but here in nigeria u hear ppl talking about 3men or even more and mentioning city Hahaha... we re not yet ready for a nation .

I am surprised they are able to preserve that much documentation and artefacts about zikism. It's thoughtful of the governor but I am disappointed the museum of this relevance has no staff on duty. That tells you the level of ignorance among Nigerian leaders. They couldn't care less about IGR from tourism so long as Petro dollar is still flowing from Abuja. The moment you picked up that unlaminated hand written document I knew instantly there's no curators in that museum. In a staffed museum you would only be allowed to handle that with gloves if at all. Thanks for shining the light on this.

Wow! Kudos to you Vera for this wonderful documentation, to the Governor who saw the importance of renovating the place and to the people who still make sure the record is kept save as we know that we Igbo people don’t place so much value on documenting history which says alot about our conflicting history. But wait oh!!! So Zick did have some portion of in the chronic tribalism that is still ravaging Nigeria till today?from the so called our compatriots?even though he thought he was fighting for everyone? Wow!!! This is unbelievable. Now I see why some of our people are blaming him for his inability to fight for ndi Igbo,He was busy playing a unifying figure while the other people were fighting solely for their region. Why on earth should one waste his/ her time trying so much to convince people/adults that do not like you to like you? Instead of focusing on building our region??? Today not only have we lost over half of the old eastern region which was Igbo territory, the little remaining 5 states are still been dragged by Fulani herdsmen. For me, hearing this type of disheartening revelation about him being rejected in London and Lagos, I see no need/reason to waste my time studying about him because to me he is a TOTAL DISGRACE yeah 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿

To continue building a culture and country, it is imperative that actual physical things of historical figures are preserved and passed on to later generations. Zik wrote a book titled Odyssey in which he claimed that his progenitors came from Benin. He also claimed that Onitsha means lordly, onini-looking down on others to which Ojukwu blasted him that there were more Onichas elsewhere in other parts of Igboland. He never recovered from this and that is still why Ojukwu is 70% popular in Igboland. Nnewi and Onitsha people do not see eye to eye and when Ojukwu died, he was sojourned to Owerri, Aba, Umuahia, Abakaliki, Enugu and to Nnewi, bypassing Onitsha.
