26 August 2016 - In an eNCA exclusive, Trevor Noah speaks to Jeremy Maggs in New York. As host of The Daily Show, Noah talks about the pressure to succeed and why American politics is the gift that keeps on giving.
Love Trevor! America needs to hear from South Africa! We need more people from other countries and cultures, not less. Trevor is smart, serious and responsible in his presentations and has great integrity!
So true. Americans sometimes are viewed as arrogant, full of themselves. I can understand that when the USA has been a super power for so long, Amercan successes in almost every fields such as business, sport, and science. By hearing outsider views of America, you can have a more balance view of other people's dilema that they have to face. Take the socalled Vietnam war, for example, none of Vietnamese point of view about the North were taken seriously. Former US governments were so focused on going against the Soviet, so much so that South Vietnam and Southeast Asia were "given" to China and now you witness the threats China imposed on the region and the whole world. I said "given" because of the fact that the US abandoned South VN and Cambodia, let China took the Paracel from South VN and the withdrawal from Subic Bay. The US did not see what we Vietnamese see China. About 2000 years experience living next to a war mongering, expantionist China is not a simple thing.
yes spot on! My 13 year old and I are hooked to him. Whomever gets a notification 1st always sends it to the other. He's not only funny but has a brilliant mind!
Dear Trevor Noah do not be over awed by this successful older African white journalist.I can tell you have been born with talent . .You are indeed a gift to the world. continue to be true to yourself.I could see at the end of the interview the interviewer himself was genuinely impressed with you.Congrats to him too.
Bluewren Reilly yes, you’re very perceptive. The body language read some amount of superiority at the beginning of the interview. But that changed at the end, because of what he was hearing and how Trevor carried himself - and beyond all that, he could clearly see he wasn’t intimidated. As you correctly observed, he gave Trevor much more respect, that’s due him, at the end of interview.
Trevor Noah is an amazingly educated young man, he said it not confident but boy he oozes with confidence. These few linen gets me: Pressure to succeed implies failure... : "Live life like a river it's flows, you find the path least resistances and over time the stream becomes stronger". These quotes alone speaks volumes. There are so many gems in this interview that shows this young man understanding and out looked on life icon a different level. Love watching his show, reading and listening to his book and most of all his interviews, you lear so much from him his family must be proud. Love and respect Trevor Noah long make his journey continues.
For a young man he is such a wise one for his career, do I think it's because of his upbringing of his mother and grandmother..he always speak of his Mother..I love his comedy and look forward to his future in whatever he can become..
Trevor Noah is not only my favorite comedian but my favorite person on earth. He seems like such a beautiful personality. I've watched the daily show since Craig Kilborn was host. I adored Stewart and loved what he did with the show. Trevor's version of the daily show is my favorite show right now and I only watch on RU-vid. Neilson ratings are meaningless of course. I don't even own a television anymore and I'm 33.
That is so right Mr Trevor Noah! You are so appreciated ! The universe says Thank you! Who would not love or appreciate you? Only a person that is lost totally and has no hope of recovering them! May no man fall in this state!
He is success for all nations. No more war fighting oppression, we break bad politics with intellectual comedy and honest promotion that nobody is nobody, all people are worthy.
Trevor Noah is a son of a mother who has raised her son for greatness. He has.a great journey ahead where he will impart his knowledge to humanity from all walks of life.
Trevor is refreshing, challenging and articulate with language , content management and delivery of his material is fantastic . comical entertainment is a bonus, if you're unable to digest his material and be amused then I'd advise you on obtaining a sense of humour .. keep up the good work Trevor
Wow, what a comprehensive comment that was! NOT! The "integrity" was damaged how...exactly? Or are you yet another spouting opinions as if they are "facts"
Ricky Valasco: I beg your pardon but who are you to find fault with this brilliant young man whom so many already have taken to their hearts .I mean you don't even know that a sentence is begun with a capital letter? LOL.
Trevor Noah is officially on my bucket list , I love a smart comedian! I watch the regular news, get depressed, and watch Trevor Noah, laugh my ass off about the reality and I can then I can sleep with a smile feeling better and vindicated that I’m not a horrible person for having had much of the same thoughts! My dream dinner is with Trevor, and Eddie Izzard! I at least would. I’d love to be at least love to be texting friends ! .
I didn't know he was going to be in my city next month for a stand up. As soon as I found out I instantly bought tickets yay! Not only did I score tickets he replied and retweeted my tweet. What a well educated and brilliant man. I'm excited to be able to finally see one of his shows. I wish him all the success in the world!
AnEvoultionaryLevelAbove HumanXenununubitch Amazing! My husband and I laughed so much. Trevor knows how to hold your attention. It was totally worth every penny.
Smart, well read person, the best gene combine of a Swiss-German + South African intellect inborn in this handsome comedian genes. Very knowledgeable indeed! Love him!
Egyptian Kemetic Black gene pool (6000 years old civilization) civilization equates to black intelligence & black intellect & black civility & none barbaric racism & black Gods & black languages & black independence Egypt is a country of the African continent Egypt was an undivided Respectable Black populous Country on the continent of Africa Kemet Overwritten by vilification narratives Black Intelligent South African gene pool Claimed their self worth & self respect by evidence of an over thrown “barbaric” apartheid government. Cheers to the resilience in Trevor’s South African Gene Pool + Switz But jokes on me, his taste in the opposite sex is more of the Switz Gene Pool’s Cheers
Brilliant young man who has a mystic mother, a mother who was born in South Africa in such oppressive regime. This mystic human being gave birth to Trevor and shielded him and inculcated discipline and nurturing. Courageous mother that epitomises her son Trevor Noah. Truly speaking I’ve learned so much about comedy that I had never seen before. It has helped me in my time of sadness and grief. Thanks to Noah and his mother.
Amazing. What a great attitude. He's in his twenties and I have struggled to get a similar attitude and it has taken me much longer to get there. Everything is helping in your life, you just don't know why or when it will pop up. He is so refreshing and I am sure Jon is pleased with his replacement. I wanted Jessica Williams as host but she didn't want it and am so glad Trevor was brought in. Brilliant!
lmao give me a fucking break...Hes not funny at all.........Hes totally premeditated and contrived.........Everyone I know doesnt like him at all........And the people that do like him are the weird ones.................
...and everyone i know loves him.. and of course the rest of the people in the comments but I'm not gonna talk about that. what I find interesting, however, is that you came to watch this video like a fan.. quite amazing for someone that doesn't like him... don't you think so?
Yes, Sir. Believing in something greater than ourselves». Mine is the Lord Jesus Christ. Stay abundantly blessed, Son of the LIVING ALMIGHTY GOD. Proud of you.
LOL.. @ his predictions on whether or not America would vote for trump..... listening to this in Oct 2018 is "funny" to hear.....but I digress...I love Trevor.. his intelligence and eloquence and ability to answer any question with a steady and confident (but humble) delivery is enviable.
OMG I think this maybe the 1st time I've ever totally disagreed with Trevor about anything! Even though I would usually never admit it, I am likely what he is categorizing as an "older viewer.". I'm watching this on my Tablet and I seldom go into the living room to watch TV unless it's a major sporting event and I really wanna see it on the big screen. Times have changed my cute young Trevor times have changed! And most of us, who are younger old LOL, have kept right with them! Hopefully he's learning this in the few years since this interview!
Context . He was not known at the time . And people believed no one can replace Jon , and they would reject him . A foreigner from Africa (The jungle ) ? A butt naked bushman? The rejection scale went high .
Never liked Jon Stewart, he bored me... BUT You Trevor made this show very interesting, fast paced and to the point! You're the best so far!!!! Keep doing what you're doing!
Trevor's right about media consumption. I'm 34 and I don't have a subscription to any tv services. I even worked for a telecommunication company. I consume all my media on the internet. I don't tune in when it's broadcasted. I can't because of my work. I'm watching this video at 5:00 am :D
I have to disagree with his point that you *have* to lose old viewers. if the old viewers stop engaging I think it's because they fail to understand the new but equally important role of the show under Trevor's leadership.
Marc Touss he was and then he was wrong about America voting in such a man because we will never understand how everything happens, works and for what reason. There is a world far beyond what our eyes can see. He is wise though.
