I think Victoria Clark summed up the purpose of this (and other) cast albums the best because like Laura, I too grew up listening to cast albums and I like to picture in my mind what I can't already see sometimes
This is one of the best cast recordings I have heard in a long time. Watching this video, I realize why. The cast have a real chemistry with each other, and they love the material they are performing. They really gave it their all, resulting in something that is truly wonderful and worth listening to over and over!
I want to see this SO much, but I am bummed that I probably won't ever see Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana ever perform together. They look and sound like such a wonderful duo. I don't think any couple will quite live up to them similar to the original duo of Kristen Chenoweth and Idina Menzel in Wicked.
I love these songs and I have always loved them ever since I saw the version with Brandy :) But I recently saw the show on tour and it was amazing! My mom and I were quietly singing the words to all the songs in our seats!
Please put this on DVD for those of us who live too far away to see the live production on stage. I've ordered the CD but would also love to see it as a show. With Covid travel is harder and living in New Zealand makes it harder still. There'd definitely be an audience for a DVD. PS I bought the Julie Andrews' DVD a couple of years ago but have many other versions of Cinderella (including my favourite - The Slipper And The Rose).
