Yeah did you notice they’re not trying to hurt the horse? Ceaser knows it’s wrong to kill humans, I don’t think he realized that water would electrocute Draco when using stun gun, the look on ceasers face he felt bad killing him and regretted it, you missed ending credit scene which is important to know before jumping to next movie, otherwise you’d be confused in beginning of dawn of planet of the apes, spaceballs comment you made it’s not from this trilogy, it’s from original series. How do you rate this? Yeah ceaser made sure no humans get killed and he just want to be free in wild with others

The line “Take your stinking paws off of me, you damn dirty ape” was also a callback to Charlton Heston in the original movie. It’s the first line time that the intelligent apes hear a human speak, and it has the same effect on them as Caesar’s “No!” had on us. Was the scene where the neighbor who was sneezed on is shown to be an airline pilot who starts the virus spreading worldwide an end credits scene? Did @NiaMakiReacts see that?

Same thing with "This place is a madhouse! A madhouse!" Which is kind of a shame, because both of those call-backs don't really feel organic.

I saw this in the theater when it came out. That moment when Caesar says "no" was one of the most amazing moments I've ever experienced in a theater. It's so unexpected, and SO powerful. It was a full house, and you could hear the entire audience gasp in one breath, and I swear the next moment you could hear a pin drop. I will never forget that moment.

Yeah, that mid-credit scene is an important link to the sequel, "Dawn". It and the sequel helps answer her question on how does this become "Planet" of the Apes? Because right now its just a "Forest of the Apes". I think also there was a novel written which talks about the events between this film and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Which BTW is one of those rare superior sequels for a franchise.

Hi Nia, nice to see you doing the modern Planet of the Apes films!🙂It is a very good trilogy! This is the first time the original 1968 film has been outdone by a good story & great ape designs. The 2001 reboot attempt "Planet of the Apes" with Mark Wahlberg was not successfull. While the ape design was very good, people found the story lacking. Andy Serkis does the motion capture for Ceasar like he did for Gollum in the Lord of the Rings films. The line "It's a madhouse, it's a madhouse!" is a line Charleton Heston says in the original 1968 film. So was, "Take your stinking paw off me you damn dirty ape!" I believe the horses being on the bridge and Ceasar riding one is a nod to the orginal film too. There is an important mid credit scene, too. Great reactions to your first film of the second reboot of Planet of the Apes, Nia!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

There are a lot of references in this movie to the original from 1968 with Charlton Heston. As a child in the late 70's and early 80's, I grew up on the Planet Of The Apes films. Looking forward to your reactions to the other two films in this series.

imo Maurice the Orangutan is one of the best characters and my favourite in this trilogy. I'm also pretty sure Ceaser got double dosed with the 113 at the home plus at the shelter on top of being born smart with the 112.

@dylancole1910 Год назад
This is one of my top favorite franchises I’ve ever watched. I hope you watch the next two as well, it’s one of those rare series where each movie just gets better than the last. heard that at some point a Fourth film is going into production within the next year or so, which is all the more reason to watch all of them, I have complete faith that it’ll be just as good. I love watching reactions to his iconic first word, that “ NOOO!” Really was surprising and downright bone chilling. I’m actually glad apes can’t form words like that in real life, that would honestly be terrifying- it’s already been proven they are capable of learning English to a certain extent and even communicate through sign, and recognize words spoken verbally to them as well as identify the names of objects through pictures- this movie is a glimpse of the scary potential of what Apes could be capable of if they could speak and so much more. Go and look up various chimpanzee and Gorilla videos done at zoos and animal facilities as well as in the wild or as pets. It’s really surprising sometimes the things they can understand. That’s the beauty and the terror of these movies is that you watch it and it’s slightly to the left of what is possible when it comes to how smart Apes are and what researchers and scientists are willing to put these animals through for the sake of human medical advancement. There are few animal characters in movies that I feel such a deep emotional connection to the whole time on screen and Caesar is definitely one of them.

11:31 I understand the confusion. In the original movie, the Apes were already the dominant species on Earth, and humans were considered animals. Tim Burton developed a remake of the original film in 2001. This film is a prequel of how it all started. Hope this makes sense! 💪

@@NiaMakiReacts Yeah, it's kinda crazy. He was just this pretty unknown actor, had some small roles in movies and tv-shows that at least I had never heard of (looking through his IMDB page), then one day he tries out for Gollum. It's a home run and for several years on, whenever there's a motion capture lead role, Andy Serkis is at the top of the list of people to call. :) He basically got a whole new career path thanks to Lord of the Rings.

The dichotomy between Ceasar and Koba is just so brilliantly written. Ceasar was born with the original serum in his blood as inherited from his Mom. He was raised as part of a human family as another family member. Koba was injected with the advanced serum through experimentation fueled by greed without any regards for his wellbeing. He was never shown any humanity or compassion from humans at all. It was through this experimentation that the virus strain in the serum was introduced to a human host, killing him but not before he passed it on and it quickly spread through the populace and became an extremely deadly epidemic. Meanwhile Ceasar uses that same serum to increase the Apes in captivity intelligence and liberates the Apes in pure Moses fashion and Koba is also freed as part of the revolt. Brilliant

Caesar could never be the villain or without humanity. Even after all hes endured he still didn't want to kil anybody and prevented his fellow apes from killing some too. I'm a big animal lover, especially apes, even more so now after falling in love with Caesar 💚 Caesar is such a great leader, he actually puts some real human leaders of today to shame. Caesar was raised with so much love from his dad & grandpa, it killed him to reject his father, u can see that in his eyes after he turns his back. Caesar has a bigger purpose now and wants to free his apes. Also no Caesar isn't a leader thats so easily replaced. None of the apes have had an upbringing like him. Caesar actually had a human education thanks to Will, Caesar understand humans just as much as the apes now. He also has compassion for both which makes him an even better leader.Caesar never went full on murderer at all, he didn't even mean to kill the cruel ape keeper. This trilogy is amazing and so emotional.

As an 80s baby who's a huge fan of the original Apes films, the modern trilogy was such a joy to experience. Rupert Wyatt did an amazing job on "Rise..." and then Matt Reeves just took that ball and raised the bar even higher with the sequels. The first sequel "Dawn..." is my favorite of the three and is an absolute masterpiece. Without a doubt one of the all time best trilogies. As stated by others there are quite a few call backs to the original, one of them being the news headline about the Icarus space shuttle getting lost in space. That is a reference to Taylor (Charlton Heston) and crew, who's shuttle goes missing for thousands of years before landing on a strange planet ruled by apes.
