I'm super excited to share this weeks video with you all. I can't believe how much shovel work was needed on this one. DEFINITELY thankful I had my new flat shovel to get the job done. The more I watch you, the more impressed I am with your methods and work ethics. Last week I read an expert researcher's findings that neighborhoods that make green spaces and removed damaged buildings are less likely to experience violent crimes. Not only that, but a return of normalcy. Not only do you restore, but you reform. Love it!! Thank you so much for your service!

True, but it's not a sustainable system without those homes becoming lived in again to prevent a recurrence of the degradation. It seems oddly common on these lawn care channels to see such abandoned homes with boarded up windows. Is this truly such a common problem in the US? It feels like we have a similar problem across the pond here in the UK where retail units in city centres become vacant for years at a time due to rent being raised unrealistically high and no one wanting to pay it. I suspect that likewise these abandoned homes are on (or have been on) the market for unrealistically high prices with the owners expecting to sell for considerably more than prospective buyers are willing to pay. Sometimes greed just gets in the way of everyone being happy.

@@mnomadvfxpart of the problem I have found here in Iowa is that rent is too high or homeowners have to leave due to high cost of living. I live in an apt and rent is higher than what people get paid here. Ridiculous.

This may sound crazy, but I'm waiting for the episode where the people show up with food, picnic tables, hot drinks, shovels , trash bags, etc. I'm from up north, Chicago, and I know how kind the people can be. Not crazy at all! I really enjoy those videos too. There’s something amazing about people expressing their gratitude with food and drinks. The RUDAN BROTHERS channel, where they replace bad roofs with steel roofs for free, often highlights this with grateful homeowners, and I’d love to see more of it here. People, this is a great example of Capitalism at work. He sees a need and fulfills that need by helping out less fortunate people and he gets paid for it by posting it on U-tube. Beware of those who scoff at him, “yes, but he gets paid for it!” …. LOOK HOW HARD HE WORKS. The whole community benefits. Midlife Stockman, you know why I love your channel bcuz your noble spirit flows through your work, to us viewers. I kept asking myself why does this man’s channel make me feel great after watching. I finally got it💡!!! Every home you take on is like life, we all have ugliness and broken spirits and things we hide in the closet, just like that driveway that was hidden. Probably because landscaping a property with out permission is trespassing. Even if you mean well a good deed can bite you in the butt. What you can do in your neighborhood is not something that can be done in others.

I really love watching your videos. It's not just a lawn transformation, it's a home transformation. You peeled away the overgrowth and debris (and replaced fencing!!) and made the home shine again. I hope the property owners (or new ones) see the beauty of this home and land and continue the transformation. As a Californian, it is so bizarre to me that you can just burn branches, etc. in the backyard whenever. That's a huge no-no here. There are even restrictions on fires in a fireplace, unless that's your primary source of heat.

I cannot say enough about the superlative job you did on this property. These photos before and after is a snapshot in time that only gives the end results which are fantastic to say the least. The planned care you gave this property was brilliantly executed. The meticulous care spoke to your audience one of a caring person who is determined to make the place better than you first found it...scrappy at the least. Besides hauling away all kinds of stuff. The camera work was great and I do appreciate the zoom in and out focus besides all of the scripting of what you said. I for one can not hear so those comments helped me to see what was going on and how you looked at the job as you went along. The transformation was amazing, that's the way Midlife Stockman works! I watch other videos, but I've never seen anybody replacing a fence, fixing a gutter, etc like you do. That new shovel helped made it easier on your back, but that yard was huge. Even my shoulders and other joints were hurting.....wait....i forgot...i have arthritis... never mind. 😂 Desr heart, you are one in a million! God bless and keep you safe and healthy!

In a two word description: Nearly Perfect, After you got through, the only give away that the house was empty was the boards on the window. Who ever owns it should get busy and do a quick inside clean up and sell it. You always go above and beyond the norm in making each job special. Wow, your videos just keep getting better and better and better. That’s a huge lot on that house and it’s not a bad house. Hey Mr. Stockman. No snow yet ??? It has been snowing in Montreal since yesterday, and still snowing today (Mon) at 1130AM. When all is said and done a foot of snow will have fallen. Let me see, maybe I have a roll of fencing in my shed, I saved for a rainy day !!! har har har And we can thank the baby Jesus, there was NO toilet in the back yard this time !!! Not meaning to be argumentative, but I believe the tool you use for edging and call a "shovel" is, technically, a spade. A shovel is larger, deeper, and rounder for larger capacity loads of dirt, snow, etc, than the smaller, flatter, sharper spade used for cutting through grass, dirt, and roots. That said, whatever you call it, I'm glad you got one with a long handle that will save your back and allow you to continue these amazingly generous tidy-ups that you gift to your community
