Honestly, I love seeing that Sonic.EXE is stepping back into the spotlight. After years of being laughed at from the horror and creepypasta communities, he's coming back, and this time he ain't pulling his punches. Ironically, that's exactly what's happening with Sonic himself with the Rift fangame gaining a lot of popularity, Colors getting a remaster, AND another game coming in 2022. It's like one big cosmic joke.

Sonic.exe is only really coming back in a major presence because of the FNF mod sadly, and it's not even that people care about Sonic.exe in the mod, they just care about because it's FNF. Besides that Sonic.exe hasn't really had any games in very recent years that made it popular again, the only one being close to that is Sonic.exe PC Port and to a lesser extent Sonic.exe Spirits of Hell Round 2.

Ya know. It’s funny how far exe games have gone from there roots. While the idea of exe versions of other intellectual property’s are basically dead. The og sonic.exe game hasn’t. People are still making sonic.exe games to this very day. And instead of using cheap jump scares or just trying to be overly scary. Some have gone the complete opposite route and instead just try to take the og game and put there own horror spin into it Sonic Pc port is a prime example. Being excellent at the “ghost in the machine” idea that the og exe had. Putting files onto the computer and having very light ddlc elements to it. I think is pretty interesting to look at. Oh and if that’s not enough. There is also people on Twitter making there own takes on the og exe. With radically different designs. Which I find really cool. So yeah ether way. It’s really funny looking back at the 2015/2016 era of exe fan games compared to now. And I have hope that more people try to be a lot more creative with the exe formula. Edit: finished the video. Cool you actully at least talked about it for a little bit. So neat
