[This is Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, I regret to report that both our Jedi Order and the Republic have fallen, with the dark shadow of the Empire rising to take there place. This message is a warning and a reminder for any surviving Jedi. Trust. In. The Force. Do not return to the temple... that time has passed, and our future... is uncertain. We will each be challenged. Our trust... our faith... our friendships. But we must persever, and in time, a new hope will emerge. May the Force be with you... *always.* ]
While seeing the jedi chat with the clones before the order is executed is sad, it's even more sad seeing Cal interact with them, he's talking to them and playing with them as if they were his older brothers.
The fact that this all happens on just any other regular day everybody doing there usual war stuff meanwhile anakin and mace windu are confronting a sith lord in a moment thatl decide the course of the galaxy makes this more tragic even more so knowing anakin is directly involved with it
I'm not sure all of these events actually happened simultaneously. Palpatine specifically refers to Cody by name when he contacts him, so it seems like he had to send the message to the COs of all the clone batallions individually, somehow implicitly activating their chips at the same time.
@@metroidnerd9001 well it is kinda confirmed there was an order to it, I assume he gave orders to some unknown 501st commander and squad, then to cody, then to everyone else. As before order 66 anakin walks up to the temple with a portion of the 501st. it also makes sense given that obi-wan was a very powerful jedi, and if left alive could have swayed anakin to the light
The sad thing is: The clones literally started as indoctrinated slaves with numbers when the Clone Wars started, became actual human beings with names during the Clone Wars and became slaves again once the Clone Wars ended with Order 66
Can't believe Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order became the First Star Wars Game to be set during the Order 66 as well the Fact that this Game takes 5 Years after Revenge of the Sith
To be honest one of the best scenes so far. I don’t really like how it was ruined with the addition of the inhibitor chip, had it not been there, it would have the scene more emotional. It has been hinted at that the clones were all secretly plotting against the Jedi by the 501st audio diary, looking for just a bit of treachery from the Jedi, talking about how they can be fooled and killed, even resenting the jedi at some point. This is what makes crosshair such a good antagonist, while he wasn’t necessarily plotting against the jedi nor did he have any personal connection with them, he was willing to kill his squad, the squad he had known for since they were born and had a personal connection with
From technological standpoint and from "I wanna get rid of them all" it would be more efficient to just call all commanders at once so it all happens instantly to everyone. If we want to be technical, then we could point out that Palpatine did address Commander Cody directly when clone troopers turned on Obi Wan, sure. Also, for artistic purposes it looks more somber to know it all literally happened within less than 30 seconds for most of the Jedi.
@@treethoown6414 yeah now that I think about it imagine how ridiculous it must've been for palpatine to contact ALL those commanders separately haha. It certainly does have a better artistic effect having it be all at the same time too. Dammit scriptwriter
@@aretinocharalambos4989 I had that same thought about how silly that would've looked in reality. Palpatine just saying "Execute order 66." over and over again for an hour while Anakin is still just kneeling there in his office.
did sidious send one transmission to all the clones or address each commander individually? I remember he said 'Commander Cody, Execute Order 66." Or were they prerecorded transmissions or something that address each commander? I've always been confused on this.
It was never officially confirmed, and honestly Sidious referring to Commander Cody by name would indicate it was separat, but for artistic purposes I assumed it one transmission at The same time. It makes more sense when trying to over throw Jedi quickly and efficiently
They didn't show the exact "Execute Order 66" moment, which didn't fit the theme of the video. People forget it did not happen at exactly the same time XD
I thought about that, but they didn't have the exact moment of triggering Order 66, only the attack on the Jedi temple, which is not taking place in the same moment. Unless I forgot they had the "execute order 66" line there xD
@@treethoown6414 I think they had the line somewhere in the opening of the first episode? I don't remember though.. They don't really explicitly show palps giving the command, rather just a voiceover reminder of what's happening on screen.
