I know I'm three years late but I really resonate with this comment. Unfortunately there's so much animosity among ex lovers and that stuff gets dug up at the worst time. I feel especially bad for the guy because anyone with eyes can tell he was hurting deep inside. Thankfully there was an update video and they're both doing well! But part of me (mostly the shipping part bc I'm such a damn weeb) wishes they were still in love, or at least still in contact. I'm just so happy they're happy, even if it's not with each other. I feel the guy genuinely thinks her current BF is a nice guy, that he wants her to be happy, and he's willing to express that despite how he feels. I think she recognises that too, which makes it even more sad.

It's real love you have for someone when you can allow them to move on without you, even tho all you want is to keep fighting for them and to be with them. Letting go of the person you want so they can find happiness with someone else is one of the most painful things you can ever experience. When you care about someone more then yourself, you will be willing to stop trying to get them back and stop fighting for them and let them move on with someone else, even when all you still want is them. You put their happiness first, no matter how painful it is. Love is amazing... but holy fuck can it ever hurt.
