Nice video of Part 3 at Exeter St. Davids. Interesting that Anne now announces short platforms along the WoMEL line and also the new GWR service to Axminster which is running 2 trains a day but could be more if passenger volume increases.
@@Parallel395 yes they do Okehampton has increased to hourly and Axminster and stations between would be good to have more services the only way would be to add down loops lines that run alongside the train.
Hope GWR will add more direct links from Barnstaple & Okehampton beyond Exeter and fill the gaps where SWR cut services. The now 17:48 (1631 from Barnstaple) GWR to Axminster has replaced the former 17:45 SWR service (Due to SWR dropping the service as well as the 1639 to Honiton & the 1707 Honiton to Exeter fast service in early 2020). Or even better if GWR can provide a new morning service from Honiton to Exeter between the 0752 and 0916 services.
@@Parallel395 This is completely off topic, but I'm trying to create a document about what you do here. You know the stations between Taunton & Reading, can they take the 9 or 10 car IETs or do they overhang? I've tried looking for this on the internet but can't find anything to support it. Could you give me a reply if you can find out for me. Keep up the great work. P.S. I've just come home from Devon with my family. Had an amazing time, albeit with the weather this last week.
@@enigmagamer112 I don’t know the lengths of all the platforms but I think Theale and Thatcham are front 6 coaches, Kintbury is front 4 coaches, Bedwyn is front 4 coaches. Pewsey - the rear two coaches and the front door of the front coach are off the platform. Castle Cary can fit 7 coaches. Newbury can fit all coaches, as can and Westbury (following its platform extensions). Not sure about Hungerford but would imagine front 5 or 6 only. Frome, only the centre of the train is platformed. I might be wrong on some of these but these are my best guesses.
SWR used to run this peak time extra to Axminster, but GWR have taken it over to apparently keep train crew knowledge up to date for diversions. After Axminster, it runs empty to Castle Cary and then back again. Link: www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:W45741/2022-08-02/detailed
