What I love about Fleur is that she stares at the camera when she vlogs. This is so different than other RU-vidrs who just stare at themselves the whole time they are talking to the camera! It's the little things :)

It always cracks me up in Fleur's vlogs when she talks about how big American portions are when she's eating! As an American I've just never noticed it!

Totally agree with Mike when it comes to flossing.

Who taught Mike how to use floss? A seamstress who mistook floss for thread? That floss line is so long, I could use it to sew if it were thread.

Floss--that is just a little bit too long (almost perfect) I went to dental assisting school and we were taught to wrap each end around your middle fingers and use your index & thumb to do the flossing. As you floss each tooth-unwrap the floss from one middle finger and move it over to the other one for a fresh section.

I am a dental hygienist and we usually recommend the length of the floss that you use should be about the length of your arm. That way you are using a clean piece of floss between every tooth

I'm a trainee dental nurse and Mike, that is too much floss! You could get away with half of that or even a quarter. Wrap it around your middle fingers and use your thumb and forefingers to work it between your teeth :) love your videos Fleur! You must be knackered travelling across America but it looks epic! X

I have to agree with Mike on the floss regarding length and the finger slipping off the end but I use it that length so I can use a different section of floss between each tooth.. otherwise if you use a small piece and floss with the same section you're just transferring stuff between teeth. So you start at one end of the floss and work your way down, wrapping it around your finger as you go.... Lol.

That dental floss was hilarious! Poor thing, you must be zonked-California has little to no humidity. That is my favorite part of going to Cali::))... Enjoy the sunshine & have a good sleep. The weather looks gorgeous!

Mike should try wrapping the floss in a figure eight motion around two fingers which synchs it better and won't let it slip out of either side. I have the same problem too and have been told off by my husband for using too much floss. Side note, I stopped flossing in front of him so I can use as much as I want. ;)

I'm a viewer who also happens to be a dentist, so here's my advice. If you wrap the floss correctly, you only have to wrap it about 3 times. Just make sure you overlap the end after the first wrap, and that will keep it secure. Good on you for flossing, no matter how you get it done! Be true to your teeth, or they'll be false to you!

Floss tip: double-knot the two ends together to make a big circle. That way you can rotate for clean floss without constantly unwrapping it from your fingers.

That is the amount of floss my dentist told me to use. So that the floss is always clean for each tooth.

I'm like Mike.. I use a long length of floss too.. There is no other way to do ur back teeth..

I use less than a thumbs length of floss, if its a very short piece it retains its tensile strength, you can also keep the floss better tense if you hold between your fingers the floss instead of wrapping it around your thumbs.

The American Dental Association recommends 18 inches, or a foot and a half, of floss. You're supposed to use a clean section of floss between each tooth. Mike's was a bit long, though.

Well, I'm the same as Mike , but I had more floss, cause I had the same problem with floss getting stuck in my teeth too. It scared me. We all have different ways of floss are teeth , that's okay. Cause at the end of the day , we floss.:)

Mike, I use like half the amount of floss that you do. But granted I have really small teeth and you probably have big fingers and teeth so I understand the amount of floss needed to make everything work properly. .Maybe invest in some of those floss picks. :) Hope that helps. Per my dental hygienist that seems to be about right (maybe slightly too long) but you should be wrapping your floss around your ring fingers and using your index and thumb to maneuver it. (So technical, I know!!!!!) At least this is the way I have been shown. ;-) So sad I wasn't able to make it to your meet and greet but hopefully in the future I will be able to meet you (and maybe piglet!!)

Hello. I have the same dental floss problem that Mike has. I have to use too much (not as much as Mike, though!) or it slips and does not do the job. You can get contraptions that you wind the floss around and that reduces wastage, but I have not been able to find one. Fortunately, floss is not outrageously expensive.

Dentists now are saying you shouldn't really use floss at all but those tiny little pipe cleaner-thingies, because with floss it's too easy to damage the gums.

One type of floss That i use I don't need that much but another one is 'slippier' so I need that much for it to stay wrapped on my fingers.

You may find this strange & gross, but I only became a "nightly" flosser - probably 3 years ago (ashamed to say & I am old enough to be your parent - if I started early LOL). I was always better at simple brushing. For some of the era & area I grew up in, flossing was encouraged but not as much as later on. For most of my relatives - dentures were the usual outcome. Gosh, I remember restaurants having toothpicks everywhere! LOL! But I know I wouldn't have all the "fillings" I have now - if I had taken better care & made flossing my routine. Now I am in the habit of flossing nightly - I rarely miss. I use about just about the same amount as Mike - my thinking is a clean section for each space - you wouldn't want to rub plaque back into a space carried from a previous space - and I am just assuming that is possible. My dental hygenest seems to move the floss as she goes along. Better too much floss than money spent later down the road - I have paid thousands to my dentist (no dental insurance) - and still much more dental work is required (trying to get rid of all the mercury fillings :(

All sources I've encountered say you need at least 18 inches of dental floss. Even better, though, are oral irrigators, like WaterPik. Floss just can't get all the places a WaterPik can.

OMG I thought I used a lot of floss hahaha. I use a little less than half of what he had. I understand what he is saying though, I hate when I make it too short and then you just don't have enough to wrap around your finger to have a good grip.
