“Exhibit Black: Abavukeli” is a social change documentary that tells the story of Sange Mpambani. Sange is an interdisciplinary artist who performs carefully curated interventions in spaces with intense emotion, such as taxi ranks and cathedrals. His main goal through these interventions is to start conversations about coloniality, racism, sexism and homophobia. However, when Sange performs, he does not interact or converse with the public, but rather, allows his audience to wonder and reflect back on the message he portrays.. “Abavukeli” allows viewers to follow Sange through the highs and lows of street performances.
